Julia's parents, Frank and Linda Jones, were a combined parody of Pam's parents in "Meet the Parents" and Toula's parents in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". Even though Julia's mother was Indian and her father was a black, Greek man, they managed to get a red-haired daughter and a Japanese daughter.

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding" was about the Portokalos family, who were all about being Greek. When Toula fell for an American man, her father freaked out. Throughout the movie, Toula was torn between her love for Ian and her family's hatred toward him. Finally after proposing to Toula, Ian agreed to get baptized and therefore became Greek so Toula's family would accept him.

Grant was walking down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, dressed as Vivian Ward (played by Julia Roberts) from "Pretty Woman" and Andy came driving in a limo.

"Pretty Woman" was about Edward, who was a businessman. He picked up a hooker named Vivian Ward and paid her $3000 to be his date for a week. During that week, she was learning how to be 'a lady'. Toward the end, the two of them fell in love.

"What Women Want" was about a rich, self-centered man. After a lot of wine and an accident in the bathroom, he became able to hear women's thoughts. After he talked to a therapist about his new ability, he decided to take advantage of being able to give women what they wanted.

Mr. Jinx was seen twice in "Date Movie". The first time, when Grant met his future parents-in-law and the second time, during dinner.

"Meet the Parents" was about Pam and Greg, a couple living in Chicago. When Pam's sister was getting married, Pam and Greg went to spend the weekend with Pam's parents. It was the first time Greg met his future in-laws. He had a plan about how to impress Pam's parents but what he didn't know, however, was that Pam's father was a retired CIA-agent.

During the therapy scene, Grant stated that he did love Julia but sometimes he just want to.... (and then he showed how he would beat Julia to death and how he would choke her.)

"Mr. and Mrs. Smith" was about a couple, each working as contract killers for two different firms (without knowing the other one also was). When the firms found out that they were married they set them up to kill each other. As soon as the firms found out they couldn't kill each other, John and Jane Smith became the targets of both firms.

"Meet the Fockers" was the sequel to "Meet the Parents". Pam and Greg went to Greg's childhood home so their parents could meet each other before the wedding. As well as in "Meet the Parents", Jack Byrnes, Pam's father, was very skeptical about meeting them. And as Greg's parents embarrassed him a lot, a lot of surprises were waiting for Jack and Dina Byrnes at Focker Isle.

"Sweet Home Alabama" was about Melanie, a successful designer, living in New York. When she got engaged to the mayor's son, Melanie returned to her home town of Pigeon Creek, Alabama. It turned out that back in Alabama, she had a husband whom she left seven years earlier, from whom she now tried to get a divorce. As she went among her family and old friends in Alabama, old feelings started to blossom and she had to choose between her old husband and her new husband.

When she had applied for pastry school, we were told she had to make an admission video. As it was taken almost directly from "Legally Blond", Julia was sitting in a jacuzzi with a pink bikini on, then she jumped up, took off her bikini top and danced topless.

"Legally Blond" was about Elle, a rich, blond girl from Los Angeles. When her boyfriend dumped her for not being serious enough for his future, she decided to apply for Harvard Law School in hopes of winning him back. When she got in and school started, her boyfriend, however, was engaged to Vivian. Everyone believed Elle would fail Harvard Law School, but in her first year, she actually won a murder trial.
