What was the movie you just watched? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The movie that was the be-all and end-all of 'send up' movies has ended and you see the following roll by in the credits: 'Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's name is misspelled in the credits as "Kareem Abdul-Jabaar".' 'This motion picture is protected under the laws of the United States and other countries. Unauthorized duplication, distribution, or exhibition may result in civil liability or criminal prosecution. So there.' 'Introducing Otto as Himself.' (Otto is a blow up doll/pilot.) Which picture did you just laugh all the way through?

Answer: Airplane!

The movie 'Airplane!' was released in 1980. Up until then, the theaters were full of disaster movies. This movie gave everyone a reason to laugh again.
All the crew on the plane became ill and the only one who could take over was an ex-pilot who was afraid of flying.
Jabbar played co-pilot Roger Murdock. There was a funny scene where one of the passengers called him out and he refused to admit that he was Jabbar.
At the end of the movie we met the autopilot, named Otto, who looked like a blowup doll in a pilot's uniform.
There are a bunch of funny credits at the end of this movie. Rent it and stay for the credits this time!
2. If you left as the credits started rolling, you missed the end of this movie. Survivors got on a boat, found a camcorder and filmed themselves. The credits were interspersed with that film. Eventually they ran out of gas and landed on an island where they were attacked. Which horror movie ended this way?

Answer: Dawn of The Dead

In 2004, a remake of a 1978 movie, 'Dawn of The Dead', was released. Some of the non-zombies that were left on Earth gathered at a shopping mall. They decided to get on a boat and head toward an island, under the impression that since islands were isolated, there might not be zombies on them.
If you got up and walked out as credits started rolling, you would not know that the zombies made it to the islands too.
As the boat ran out of gas and floated toward the dock, the survivor's dog jumped off and ran away. Zombies began lurching toward the boat and the survivors.
Now the movie really was over and it ended by giving Tom Savini, Scott H. Reiniger and Ken Foree credit - "Special Appearance from the original Dawn of the Dead".
3. The movie's over and you decide to sit back and relax and maybe catch a few winks while the theater empties. You hear snickering, then out and out laughter. You open your eyes to see the end credits are accompanied by a fight between a rat and the warden's severed body part. What horror movie did you just watch?

Answer: Beyond Re-Animator

There is quite a list of 'Re-Animator' movies. 'Beyond Re-Animator' was released in 2003 and, of course, starred Jeffrey Combs as mostly crazy Dr. Herbert West. This movie took place in a prison and the warden was eventually attacked and dismembered by prisoners. At the beginning of the movie we were introduced to a prisoner who has a pet rat.

The rat was one of Dr. West's 'guinea pigs' (you know what I mean). The rat and the warden's body part were re-animated and had a duel to the death (if that's possible, I'm pretty sure they're already dead) as the credits rolled down the side of the screen.

It's hilarious.
4. When you get to your seat, you look up and see the following: 'The characters and incidents portrayed and the names used are fictitious and any similarity to the names, characters, or history of any person is entirely accidental and unintentional. Signed RICHARD M. NIXON' 'We apologise for the fault in the subtitles. Those responsible have been sacked... ...We apologise again for the fault in the subtitles. Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked have been sacked.' What the heck is going on, did you miss the entire show? What movie's ending credits are actually at the beginning?

Answer: Monty Python and The Holy Grail

'Monty Python and The Holy Grail' was released in 1975. King Arthur first found his knights and then they all set out to find the grail. Along the way, hilarity ensued, as they say.
This movie has a long list of hilarious credits. I have chosen a couple to share with you. You really should watch the movie and credits all the way through if you get the chance.
But remember, don't try to grab a sandwich or pop some popcorn while the movie queues up. All the credits are at the beginning of the movie, there aren't any ending credits. All this craziness is before the movie even starts.
5. You watched this man die in the movie which is now over. And yet, there he is, right at the end of the credits. Is this the world's longest death scene or what? Actually, IF he was a zombie in the movie, wasn't he already dead? It sounded like he said, "In the words of the immortal philosopher Jean Paul Sartre, 'Au revoir, gopher.'" What was the movie you just watched?

Answer: Zombieland

Bill Murray made a cameo appearance in the 2009 film 'Zombieland'. He showed up in full zombie make-up and provided a long and wonderful death scene.
The movie was about two sisters and two guys who had not been affected by mad cow disease and therefore, not turned to zombies. They were making their way across country to go to an amusement park. Along the way, they stopped for an overnight rest at Bill Murray's Hollywood home. He was faking zombieness to walk among the real zombies. He played a practical joke on the group and that resulted in his death.
As the credits rolled to an end, Murray appeared with one of the men, Tallahassee, played by Woody Harrelson. Tallahassee was trying to recall a scene from 'Caddyshack' and Murray quoted it back to him.
6. You think the movie's over. The story has been told, the main characters have come to an end and you're expecting the credits to start when a villain you haven't seen for a bit, that you weren't even sure was alive or dead, is finally on screen. Bullseye is under guard at a hospital, heavily bandaged and in traction. A fly is torturing him, buzzing around his face. There is a syringe, you hear a sound, and then you see a fly impaled on the wall. What comic book hero movie was coming to an end?

Answer: Daredevil

'Daredevil' was made in 2003. It starred Ben Affleck as a blind attorney, aka, Daredevil. Jennifer Garner played his girlfriend, Elektra Natchlos. Colin Farrell played Benjamin Pointdexter, aka Bullseye, a super assassin. He could hit most anything he aimed at dead center.
At the end of the movie, Bullseye was in the hospital with his entire body covered in bandages. He proved his assassin skills by impaling the fly with a syringe and then the song credits rolled.
7. You thought the movie was just about over but you really needed to go to the bathroom. As you try to make up your mind, beat the crowd up the aisle or not, the credits start to roll. As you sit squirming, you decide you really should have left early. You thought you just read: 'And introducing Julia Roberts as Tess'. Is it possible, did you just watch a movie with that credit? Which one?

Answer: Ocean's Eleven

'Ocean's Eleven' (2001) was a remake of 'Ocean's Eleven' (1960). The '60's version starred Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Peter Lawford, often called The Rat Pack. Angie Dickinson played Danny Ocean's (Sinatra) wife.
The 2001 version starred Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Brad Pitt, George Clooney as Danny Ocean, and Julia Roberts as Ocean's wife. Julia Robert's credit line is usually reserved for a person making their first appearance in a movie. Definitely not the case with award winning Roberts.
Danny Ocean put together a team of guys to rob three casinos in Las Vegas all owned by Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia). They planned to get away with $150 million dollars and not be spotted doing it. Some of the original cast members from 1960 were included as spectators at a boxing match in the 2001 movie.
8. The movie is over, credits are rolling and you read 'All characters and events in this film are fictitious. Any similarity to actual events or persons, living, dead, or undead, is purely coincidental.' 'Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy star as themselves'. Frog and Pig, neither of them was the furry beast you just watched. What was the movie you just saw?

Answer: An American Werewolf In London

In 1981, 'An American Werewolf In London' was released. It was the story of two Americans backpacking in England and trying to stay off of the moor. They set out, it started raining, they got lost and attacked by a werewolf. Jack died and David was badly wounded. A nurse in a London hospital invited David to stay with her to recuperate. His friend Jack, an apparition, tried to convince David that he would turn into a werewolf, which he eventually did.
The film director, Frank Oz, made a couple of appearances (which he likes to do in many of his movies), one as Miss Piggy.
9. The movie is over and you stand up to leave when you glance up and what you see makes you sit back down again. Are you dizzy or are the credits really rolling down the screen instead of the usual - up? When you glance back you see 'SPECIAL THANKS: NO VIRGINS WERE HARMED DURING THE MAKING OF THIS MOTION PICTURE' And then 'Mike N. Schott--Boom Operator' What movie has made you light headed?

Answer: Cherry Falls

'Cherry Falls' was a slasher movie released in 2000. A masked murderer was in Cherry Falls and seemed to be killing all the virgins at the local high school. To combat this, the kids planned a party were everyone could lose their virginity and live.
The movie starred Michael Biehn, Jay Mohr, and Brittany Murphy.
You did of course get the joke in the credits about the guy who holds the microphone while the movie is being made?
10. You've finished the popcorn, the credits have all gone by and you're just about to stand up when suddenly a figure appears and says 'Go Home! Go Home!'. The character from the movie you just watched gets sleepy, says 'Bye-Bye...' and then falls asleep. If I tell you the character that just fell asleep is sort of orange and fuchsia and fuzzy does that help you remember which movie you just watched?

Answer: The Muppet Movie

'The Muppet Movie' was released in 1979. Kermit and friends headed for Hollywood and fame. During the trip, Kermit had to avoid becoming part of a frog-leg dinner.
While the credits were on screen, we saw the cast seated in a theater and many had fallen asleep. Animal, you know, the crazy drummer, appeared to be chained to his seat (we all know how wild he can get). He looked at the camera and delivered the very last lines before the lights went out, 'Go Home! Go Home! Bye-Bye...'
