Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which actor plays Dr. Louis Creed?

Answer: Dale Midkiff

Midkiff stars as the patriarch of the Creed family. Midkiff, a Maryland native, can also be seen in the TV movie "Elvis and Me." Gwynne plays Jud Crandall, Greenquist portrays Victor Pascow, and Lombard plays Louis' father-in-law, Irwin. Louis is also the main protagonist of the film.
2. The burial ground belongs to which Indian tribe?

Answer: Mic Mac

As Judd and Louis climb to the burial ground to bury Church, Judd explains to Louis that the ground belonged to the Mic Mac tribe. Later on in the film, we find out from Judd that they stopped using the burial ground once they figured out it brought bad luck. The burial ground still brings bad luck, as evidenced by the resurrection of Gage, Church, and Rachel.
3. How does Louis kill Gage at the end of the film?

Answer: Gives him a lethal injection

Louis knows he has to put Gage back to sleep again so he comes prepared with a lethal injection that goes right into his neck. Afterwards, Gage tells him, "No fair," then stumbles into the wall and dies.
4. What animal can be seen at the beginning of the film, in the opening credits?

Answer: Skunk

If you watch closely, a skunk crawls by as they are unveiling the opening scene. The opening scene shows "Pet Sematary," which Judd discusses with the Creeds, when they visit it at the beginning of the film.
5. Fill in the blank for this quote. "Lie down, play dead, ____ dead!"

Answer: Be

Louis says this to Church after giving him a lethal injection and then Church dies. Apparently, Church comes back as an evil cat and has to be put back down again so he could not harm anyone else. At this point, some may argue that Louis goes mad and loses it.
6. What city does Rachel fly into, to board her final flight back to Maine?

Answer: Boston

On the plane, you hear the pilot announce they are about to descend into Boston's Logan Airport. Rachel is flying back home after her daughter, Ellie, tells her that Louis is about to do something really bad. Ellie is correct since Louis digs up Gage's coffin and buries him at the burial ground and up comes an evil Gage. You can say Louis is optimistic and an opportunist at seizing the opportunity of resurrecting his loved ones.
7. What ailment is Missy suffering from, at the beginning of the film?

Answer: Stomach Ache

Missy is the housekeeper for the Creeds. She mentions to both Louis and Rachel that she has a belly ache that will eventually go away. Louis, being a doctor, offers to check it out but she refuses. Later, in the film, Missy leaves the Creeds a suicide note and kills herself since she believes she has stomach cancer and cannot deal with the the pain.
8. Why does Louis think that burying Rachel will work with her while it did not with Gage?

Answer: She has just died.

Judd states in the film that, when one buries a human up in the burial ground, they come back as someone different, usually evil. Louis gets the idea to dig up Gage's coffin and bury him in the burial ground to come back to life. However, Gage returns as an evil person and ends up killing Judd and Rachel. Louis thinks Rachel will return to life as a good hearted person since she has just died, while it took him a while to bury Gage. Rachel winds up being evil and supposedly kills Louis at the end of the movie. Since Rachel's death is recent, whereas it takes a couple of weeks to resurrect Gage, Louis believes she will come back as a good person.
9. Rachel's sister, Zelda, dies of what?

Answer: Meningitis

Right as Rachel tells Louis her story of seeing her sister die, Louis briefly mentions how she passed away. What is interesting is, in the film, a man portrays Zelda!
10. What is the name of Judd's dog?

Answer: Spot

When Judd takes the Creeds to the Pet Sematary for the first time, he mentions to them his deceased dog, Spot, and shows them his burial spot.
