Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is Woody looking for at the beginning of the movie?

Answer: His hat

Woody is panicking because Andy is about to go to Cowboy Camp with him, and he can't find his hat anywhere. He also gives Buzz a long list of things to do while he's away, such as rotating the toys in the bottom drawer and ensuring everyone attends a seminar about Not Being Swallowed. Bo Peep reassures him that Andy will still take him to camp even without his hat. Slinky later finds it - it was stolen by Buster, the family dog.
2. Andy decides to have a last minute play with his toys before going to Cowboy Camp. He makes Woody rescue Bo Peep with Buzz's help, but which toy is cast as the villain?

Answer: Hamm

In Andy's game, Hamm has a Cockney accent and is threatening to either feed Bo Peep to a shark or have her attacked by monkeys. Andy makes Woody choose a third option and summon Buzz, who knocks Hamm out of the way. When Andy's mum comes to get him, Andy notices that Woody's arm is ripped, and decides to leave him behind. Woody has a nightmare about Andy throwing him away.
3. Andy's mum is holding a yard sale, and one of the toys she collects for the sale is Wheezy, a squeaky toy penguin. Woody goes after Wheezy and tries to rescue him by tying him to Buster with Buster's collar, but falls off Buster's back. Al McWhiggin, a toy collector, sees Woody and offers Andy's mum money for him, but she refuses. What does Al do in response?

Answer: He creates a distraction with a skateboard, then steals Woody.

Al appears in an advert earlier in the film for his toy shop, Al's Toy Barn, where he is dressed as a chicken. (His number plate has 'LZTYBRN' on it, which Buzz picks up on as a clue.) A little girl expresses interest in Woody, but her mum refuses to buy him because of his torn arm. Al recognises Woody as a collector's item and offers Andy's mum money for him, but she refuses, saying that Woody is an old family toy, and locks him in the cash box. Al creates a distraction by kicking a skateboard, and steals Woody from the box while everyone is distracted. Buzz tries to chase him, grabbing onto the boot of his car, but falls off.
4. In Al's flat, Woody meets a cowgirl doll, a toy horse, and a prospector doll in mint condition. He discovers that they are all his co-stars from an old TV puppet show, of which he is the lead character. What is the name of the show?

Answer: Woody's Roundup

Woody gets a surprise when Bullseye, his horse, jumps out of a box and gives him a ride, and Jessie (the cowgirl) hugs him and keeps exclaiming, "It's you!" Stinky Pete, the prospector, is still in his box, and Bullseye has to turn it around so he can see Woody. Woody can't understand what all the fuss is about and how they know who he is, until Bullseye turns up the lights and Woody discovers the room is full of merchandise from 'Woody's Round-Up', where he's the 'rootingest, tootingest cowboy in the whole Wild West'.
5. What does Stinky Pete blame for their TV show getting cancelled?

Answer: Space toys

Or, to be precise, 'Sputnik'. Woody wants to see more episodes of 'Woody's Roundup', but Stinky Pete explains that the show was cancelled because when the Space Race began, children became more interested in playing with space toys and lost interest in cowboy shows. (Sound familiar?) Woody plays with the merchandise, but gets a shock when Stinky Pete tells him that they're all due to be sold to a toy museum in Tokyo. Woody doesn't want to go, which makes Jessie angry as she's terrified of going back into storage.
6. A professional toy cleaner comes to mend Woody's arm and give him a bit of a clean-up. What else does he do?

Answer: He paints over Andy's name on Woody's shoe.

The toy cleaner puts Woody in a vice which resembles a miniature dentist's chair, and cleans and polishes him, sews his arm back on, and paints the sole of Woody's boot, covering Andy's name.
7. Woody discovers that Jessie is bitter about his desire to return to Andy because she once had a special owner too, and reminisces about her owner. What is the name of the song that plays during Jessie's flashback?

Answer: When She Loved Me

'When She Loved Me' is sung by Sarah McLachlan. Jessie says of Andy, "Even though you're not moving, you feel like you're alive, because that's how he sees you." Woody asks how she knows, and Jessie reveals that she had the same kind of relationship with a little girl called Emily, until Emily grew older, and preferred make-up to horses and Jessie. Eventually, the day came when Emily left Jessie by the roadside in a cardboard box, as a charity donation.
8. The other toys, led by a second Buzz Lightyear, catch up with Woody, as does the original Buzz. But does Woody want to go back with them?

Answer: No

Woody has decided to go to Japan as he doesn't want to break up the gang, and refuses to leave his new friends. Buzz argues that he's still Andy's toy, but Woody retorts that one day, Andy will get bored of him and throw him away. The toys leave, disappointed, and Woody sees a video from 'Woody's Roundup' with him singing 'You've Got a Friend in Me'.

A little boy appears in the video and hugs the puppet Woody. Woody scrapes off the paint on his shoe and sees Andy's name. He changes his mind and decides to go back with the other toys.
9. What does Woody figure out about Stinky Pete?

Answer: He was the one who turned on the TV when Woody tried to get his arm back.

Woody wants Jessie and Bullseye to come with him, but Stinky Pete gets out of his box and screws the grate to the wall to stop him following the toys. Woody realises that Stinky Pete was the one who turned on the TV while Al was sleeping and Woody was trying to get his arm back, which woke Al up and made him put Woody back in his glass case. Woody calls for help and the toys come back, but are unable to get him out in time, and Al packs the cowboy toys away.

The two Buzzes and the other toys run to the lift, but meet Zurg coming up.

The second Buzz fights Zurg (and 'Star Wars' fans might notice the reference!) and Rex pushes Zurg off the lift. Slinky tries to get Woody out of the box, but Stinky Pete pushes him away.
10. What do the other toys use to save Woody from Stinky Pete at the airport?

Answer: Flash photography

Buzz opens the box, but Stinky Pete punches him. Woody gets angry and they fight, and Stinky Pete threatens to dismember him with his pickaxe. Meanwhile, Hamm, Mr Potato Head, Rex and the aliens have found a case full of cameras, and they use the flash to distract Stinky Pete. Buzz drops Stinky Pete into a little girl's backpack. Amy, the little girl, calls him a 'big ugly man doll', and her Barbie doll reveals that Amy is an artist who likes drawing on her toys' faces.

Meanwhile, Jessie is still trapped in the box, so Woody and Buzz ride Bullseye to save her. Woody gets onto the plane to rescue Jessie, but the plane starts to taxi down the runway with them on it. Woody spots a hole that he and Jessie are able to get through, and they escape with Buzz and Bullseye's help by jumping out of the plane.

Jessie and Bullseye join the toy family, with Andy's name written on the soles of their feet, and Andy also fixes Woody's arm.
