Englund, born on June 6th, 1947 in Glendale, California was cast as the iconic Freddy Kruger. Freddy gained notoriety for being a child murderer and he was acquitted of those charges, since the police officer who searched his house did not execute the search warrant properly.

The parents of Springwood went to Freddy's house, one night, and burned his house down; Freddy died. However, Freddy returned, in the children's dreams (those who lived on Elm Street) and usually killed them. If Freddy killed someone, in a dream, they died in real life as well.

At the end of the movie, Nancy Thompson killed Freddy Kruger. In 2003, the American Film Institute ranked Freddy Kruger as the 40th most iconic film villain/villainess out of 50, beating out villains like The Joker from Tim Burton's "Batman" and Hans Gruber from "Die Hard". Langenkamp, a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma landed the role of Nancy Thompson. Nancy had a boyfriend, Glenn, and she lived in Freddy's old house on Elm Street in Springwood, Ohio. Nancy became upset, with her father (who was a police officer), when he used her to arrest Rod for Tina's murder.

After Rod's funeral, Nancy's mom told her father that she would be getting Nancy some help and took her to a sleep center, to see if they could find out what was wrong with her. In the middle of Nancy's exam, she started to toss and turn and fighting with her covers.

Her doctor woke her up and Nancy showed the hat she grabbed from her dream. Nancy found out that the man who haunted her and her friends in their dreams was named Fred Kruger, when she saw the initials in the hat.

At the end of the movie, Nancy set booby traps to kill Freddy and she was successful in killing him. Langenkamp reprised the role of Nancy Thompson in the movie, "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors". Langenkamp was also in the movies, "Nickel Mountain", "The Demolitionist", and "The Bet".

Answer: Johnny Depp

Depp, born in 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky portrayed Glenn Lantz in "A Nightmare on Elm Street". Glenn and Nancy dated and were also friends with Tina and Rod. One night, Glenn, Tina, and Nancy were at Tina's house and Tina said she heard a noise. Glenn went out to look for whoever made the noise but it was just Rod. Nancy told Glenn that she knew who was stalking them, in her dreams, and that she had a plan to bring Freddy out of her dream.

She told Glenn, one night, that she would go to sleep, at a certain time, and she wanted Glenn to call her to wake her so she could pull Freddy out of her dream and into the real world. Glenn, instead, fell asleep and Freddy got him and pulled him under his bed. Right after this, a lot of blood came out of Glenn's bed and flooded the ceiling. Depp had parts in the films, "Secret Window", "Once Upon a Time in Mexico", and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".

In 2008, he received an Academy nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the movie, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" but lost to Daniel Day Lewis for "There Will Be Blood".

Other Oscar nominees for Best Actor in a Leading Role that year were Viggo Mortensen for "Eastern Promises", Tommy Lee Jones for "In the Valley of Elah", and George Clooney for "Michael Clayton".

Shayne had the small role of Nancy's English teacher. One day, at school, Nancy's teacher gave a lesson and Nancy went to sleep. In Nancy's dream, she left the classroom and encountered Freddy in a boiler room. In the dream, Nancy burned her arm and that was when she woke up.

Her English teacher went over to assure her it was just a dream. The teacher noticed the burn, on Nancy's arm, but Nancy just left the classroom. Shayne guest starred on the TV series', "ER", "My Name is Earl", and "Crossing Jordan".

Corri, born on October 6th, 1963 in New York City, was cast as Rod Lane. Rod was Tina's boyfriend and they made love on the night Tina was murdered by Freddy Kruger. Rod was the lead suspect in her murder and tried hard to run from the police. The next day, after Tina's death, Rod pulled Nancy aside, in the bushes, and asked her what she thought on who killed Tina. Just then, police came in and Rod ran but he was caught and arrested. One night, while in his jail cell, Rod was sleeping and Freddy caused the bed sheets to coil around his neck. Freddy caused Rod to be hung to death and he died. Garcia had guest starring stints on the TV series', "Without a Trace", "CSI: Miami", and "She Spies".

Answer: Ronee Blakley

Blakley, a native of Caldwell, Idaho played Margee Thompson. Margee was very concerned with her daughter, Nancy, since she had many terrible nightmares. After Rod's funeral, Margee decided to get Nancy some help and took her to a center that specialized in sleep disorders.

The doctors could not find out what was wrong with Nancy and informed Margee of this. Margee and Nancy spoke, one day, and Margee told her the story of Freddy Kruger and how he got acquitted of murdering many children. Near the end of the movie, Nancy wanted to go across the street, to Glenn's house, but Margee told her the entire house was locked, so that Nancy could get some sleep. Blakley guest starred on the TV shows, "Hotel", "Tales from the Darkside", and "Trapper John, M.D.".

In 1976, Blakley received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the film, "Nashville" but lost to Lee Grant for "Shampoo". Other Oscar nominees for Best Supporting Actress that year were Sylvia Miles for "Farewell, My Lovely", Lily Tomlin for "Nashville", and Brenda Vaccaro for "Once is Not Enough".

Saxon, born in 1935 in Brooklyn, New York was cast as Lt. Don Thompson, Nancy's father. Lt. Thompson wanted to catch Rod Lane since Rod was the number one suspect in Tina's murder. On the day that Ron was caught, Lt. Thompson had police lined up all along the path that Nancy took to school, since he believed Rod would come to her. Sure enough, Lt. Thompson caught his daughter with Rod and Nancy was upset that he used her to arrest Rod.

After Glenn's death, Nancy told her father she would go to sleep and that she wanted him to be there when she woke up and brought Freddy Kruger out of her dream to arrest him. Saxon reprised his role of Lt. Don Thompson in "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors." He also had roles in the movies, "God's Ears" and "From Dusk Till Dawn".

Wyss portrayed Tina Grey in a small role. In the opening scene, Tina was seen running through a hallway that had, among other things, sheep in it. She went to a boiler room since she heard a maniacal laugh. Once she got into a corner, Freddy Kruger popped up and frightened Tina.

This was all just a dream that Tina had. The next night, Tina told Nancy about the dream she had and of the guy who was in it. When she described him, Nancy remarked that she dreamed about the same person. While Tina and Rod had sex, Freddy attacked Tina and dragged her across the ceiling and she died. Wyss had guest starring stints on the TV series', "JAG", "Cold Case", and "Judging Amy".

Call had the very small role of Glenn's father, Mr. Lantz. On the night that Glenn died, he stood outside and looked at Nancy's house, to make sure she would not bother Glenn. When Nancy kept calling Glenn's house, to check up on him, Mr. Lantz had had it with Nancy and told her Glenn was asleep and she would have to call him the next day.

After he hung up the phone, he told his wife you just had to know how to handle "these kids." Call guest starred on the TV shows, "Newhart", "Hill Street Blues", and "Hart to Hart".

Lipton portrayed Mrs. Lantz, Glenn's mother, in a small role. Mrs. Lantz went outside, the night Glenn died, and saw her husband staring at Nancy's home. She asked him what he was doing and he said he was keeping an eye on her, since he did not trust her. Mrs. Lantz told him to be patient with Nancy, since two of her friends had just died.

When Mrs. Lantz went into Glenn's bedroom, the night he was killed, she saw a whole bunch of blood overflowing on the ceiling and she screamed in terror. Lipton had roles in the films, "T.R. Baskin", "Seems Like Old Times", and "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo".
