At the beginning of the movie when everyone is waking up, we see Bishop say 'good morning' to his grandmother, who has just finished breakfast. Rahim lives with his mother and sister. Q lives with his mother. Steel shares bunkbeds with his brother and lives with his parents.

The guys got hungry while walking around, so they went by Steel's house, where he prepared his own personal favorite; bacon, eggs and hot sauce, all mashed together with a splash of malt liquor. He dug right into his plate, while the other guys kind of sat there looking at theirs.

He needed to distract her while the guys lifted some vinyls. She was not very pretty, and she played right in thinking she was getting a date on Saturday. By the time she realized they had taken some records, they were on their way out the door.

As Queen (the judge and MC for the Ruffhouse DJ contest) was leading one DJ out, following his unsuccessful audition she told him, quite politely, that he wasn't good enough for that level and needed more experience. He visibly disagreed with her and snatched his tape out of her hand.

This offended her enough to drop the manners and tell him that his style was sloppy, only a fool would open the way he did, nobody wanted to hear the tracks he was playing, and that he was basically wack.

Q goes to Yolanda's apartment just in time to bump into her less than pleasant ex-husband Frank. She introduces the two and leaves the room, and Frank quickly follows up the intro with the above remark (on calling himself Q). Q tells him his real name is Quincy, but that he's not too fond of it, so he goes by Q or GQ.

Q took round one, after which he left with Bishop, Steel and Rahim to rob Quilles' store. When he came back to the club for round two, Quilles and Rahim were dead.

Some time after the shooting incident, Bishop found himself cornered by Radamez and his gang. Just then Q and Steel were seen across the street, walking by. They saw Bishop, and Bishop saw them. The two of them saw he was in trouble, but they kept on walking and left him alone. From then on, Bishop no longer considered either of them "crew", and whatever was keeping him from killing them (like Radames and Quilles) was gone.

Trip was the eyes and ears of the hood, and everything that was said on the streets, he knew about. Bishop knew this, and he went to him to make up a story about how Q was starting to go crazy and he was scared, and how he'd do him in if he had to. That way, once he framed Q, he could kill him and go on without being exposed as a snake.

Bishop took Steel out to an alley, shot him and left him for dead. Steel wasn't dead, however, he eventually hobbled his way to some medical attention. Once in the hospital, Yolanda saw him and asked him what had happened. Steel told her Bishop killed everybody and was trying to frame Q.
