This was George Romero's first feature film released in 1968.
The film begins in a graveyard with a brother and sister getting attacked by some of the dead rising. The brother is killed and the girl escapes to a nearby farmhouse, to shelter in with others, who are also trying to escape zombies.

Pretty good cast actually. Starts off with the two cops going out to a local farmer's place, checking out a missing chicken, and along the way they notice that it's still daylight at night time and that watches and phones have stopped. Then zombies start popping up, locals are killed, pets are missing, and at the end a spaceship arrives and takes a resident away.

Answer: Return of the Living Dead

This film came out in 1985. Starts with a medical supply foreman trying to impress a new employee with some secret military experiment in the basement but then the two guys accidentally release a gas that causes the corpses to turn into zombies. The guys and all of their friends that came to visit them deal with the brain eating zombies.

These zombies were the first to run in a horror film.

Answer: Dawn of the Dead

This film came out in 2004 and is about a diverse group of people who gather inside a mall but it's overrun with zombies so they have to fight to escape to a marina to take a yacht to a nearby island. There is lots of blood and gore along the way. Not everyone makes it.

Answer: Shaun of the Dead

This 2004 zombie comedy film was hilarious. The main character, Shaun, lives in London and is a bit of a slacker in a dead end job. His girlfriend broke up with him but suddenly there's a zombie apocalypse so Shaun and his best friend Ed are trying to get to Shaun's girlfriend and mother to rescue them and so they have to battle zombies along the way to get to their local pub they hang out in. People end up dying but just as things look bleak for Shaun and his girlfriend the British Army shows up and saves the day!

Answer: Return of the Living Dead Part 2

This remake film in 1988 has a military truck transporting barrels of Trioxin, a deadly chemical, when one falls off into a river and some kids find it and open it. Bad move. All this is due to a mysterious gas that brings the dead back to life and zombies run all over town and there is chaos.

The end takes place at a local power plant where all the zombies get electrocuted and that's the end of them, or is it?

Answer: Zombieland

In 2009 this film had a great cast. Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Abigail Breslin, Bill Murray and Amber Heard. It's about a virus that turns most people into zombies, and the world's surviving humans have to fight them off and get to a safe place.

A shocking part to me was when the four main characters hid in a mansion of Ghostbusters star Bill Murray's, and one of them killed him! They thought he was a zombie but he wasn't.

Answer: Army of Darkness

This 1992 film with Bruce Campbell is a sequel; two other films with his same character came before this. This one starts with he and his girlfriend taking a vacation to a cabin in the woods where they find a spell book of the dead. When he reads a spell he is sucked into a vortex of sorts and ends up fighting an army of undead.

He has to find a certain book and utter a certain phrase in order to return to his own time. There is a lot of fighting going on but eventually he returns to his own time.

Answer: Land of the Dead

Another great George Romero movie in 2005. This was his fourth of six 'Living Dead' films. His voice can be heard as one of the puppets in a children's show and he says, "Take that, you smelly zombie!" In this film the zombies continue to roam around but there are people at outposts all over the United States.

This outpost in the film is in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where it contains a controlled government. They all have to fight to survive.

Answer: Day of the Dead

This is the third of George Romero's original "Night of the Living Dead" series. This has a group of scientists and soldiers holding up in an underground bunker somewhere in Florida trying to survive the zombie attacks. The scientists are doing experiments on some of the military when they are found out and punished but then zombies are able to get into their outpost bunker and everyone is trying to survive.
