Answer: Sara Smile

Written by Daryl Hall for his girlfriend, Sara Allen, "Sara Smile" peaked at # 4 on the Pop chart in 1975. The song, which was a million seller, is featured on the duo's LP, "Daryl Hall and John Oates".
2. Name the song that contains the following lyric: "...my face ain't lookin' any younger. Now I can see; love's taken her toll on me..."

Answer: She's Gone

"She's Gone" was written by Daryl and John, and it was featured on the 1973 LP, "Abandoned Luncheonette". The song peaked at # 60 on the Pop chart it's first time around: in 1973. Several months later, the R&B group, Tavares, hit # 1 on the R&B chart with their version of the song.

Then, in 1976, Daryl and John's version was released again. This time it peaked at # 7 on the Pop chart. By the way, "She's Gone" was produced by legendary producer, Arif Mardin, who's also produced hits for The Bee Gees, Aretha Franklin and numerous other artists.

Featured on the 1980 LP, "Voices", "You Make My Dreams", one of my favorites, was a Top 5 Pop hit.

Taken from the platinum LP of the same name, "Private Eyes", the duo's fourth million-selling single, was their third # 1 Pop hit.

"Rich Girl", which was written by Daryl and featured on the 1976 LP, "Bigger Than Both of Us", was the duo's first # 1 Pop hit. According to Casey Kasem, host of "America's Top 20", Daryl was quoted as saying that the song was actually about a guy he knew. However, because the concept of a rich guy wouldn't work quite as well, he changed it to "Rich Girl".

Answer: I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)

According to hallandoates.com, "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" was written by Daryl, John and Daryl's girlfriend, Sara Allen, in the recording studio. It was also recorded, "on the spot." The song hit # 1 on the Pop chart in January, 1982, and it spent a week at # 1 on the R&B chart also.

Answer: Maneater

Daryl and John's sixth million-selling single, "Maneater" spent four weeks at # 1 on the Pop chart. The song was featured on the 1982 LP, "H20". It was in heavy rotation on Pop radio at that time.

Answer: Everytime You Go Away

Written by Daryl and John and featured on their 1980 LP, "Voices", "Everytime You Go Away" became a # 1 smash hit for British artist, Paul Young, in 1985. The song also won a BMI industry award for the "Most Played Song of 1985".
