By the way, the song was written by Stevie Wonder, and, it features him on keyboards. Interestingly, Stevie had written another song for the group, but Chaka, reportedly, didn't like it. She asked him for another song, which resulted in him writing "Tell Me Something Good".

"Sweet Thing" was written by the group's keyboardist, Nate Morgan, and Chaka Khan, reportedly in a little over half an hour, according to the book, "A Touch of Classic Soul 2: The Late 1970's" by Marc Taylor. Though it was the last song added to the LP, it was the first single release. It hit # 1 on the R&B chart and # 5 on the Pop
