Born Charles Westover, Del Shannon placed nine tunes in the top 40 of Billboard's Hot 100 from 1961-1982. Although three made the top ten, his only number one was "Runaway" in 1961. David Seville's novelty song "Witch Doctor" reached the top of the Top 100 list in 1958. On the Hot 100, Silver Convention did "Fly, Robin, Fly" in 1975 and Silk performed "Silver Freak" in 1993.

After disbanding in 1984, the group came together again in 1990, with Glen Burtnick taking over from Tommy Shaw. On the top 40 of Billboard's Hot 100, Styx had 16 songs from 1975-1991.

Although eight made the top ten, their only number one tune was "Babe" in 1979. "Sukiyaki" by Kyu Skamoto (1963) and "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot (1992) were both one-hit wonders that reached number one. "It Wasn't Me" was done by Shaggy in 2000.
