Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What name was shared by author Agatha, her first husband, Archie, and their daughter, Rosalind?

Answer: Christie

Agatha Miller married Archie Christie, and they had a daughter named Rosalind. Agatha's second husband was called Max Mallowan. Agatha Christie is, of course, one of the best known of all British authors.
2. What surname was shared by author Monica, her husband, Bill, and their children Shelley and Sean?

Answer: Edwards

Monica Edwards was a popular author during the 1940s, 50s, 60s and 70s. Her best known books were contained in two series - The Romney Marsh and Punchbowl Farm series, but she also wrote non-fiction for adults. Titles included "The Cats of Punchbowl Farm" and "Badger Valley".
3. What surname was shared by writer William and his wife, Anne, and their children, Susannah, Judith, and Hamnet?

Answer: Shakespeare

William Shakespeare, playwright and poet, married Anne Hathaway. They had two daughters and a son, Hamnet, who died in childhood. Weirdly, the Shakespeares have no known direct descendents. (Two children died unmarried, but I believe the third had a child (or children) who had no issue.)
4. What surname was shared by Robert and his wife, Ginnie (Virginia)?

Answer: Heinlein

Robert Heinlein was a respected author of science fiction. He wrote a great many books, including the "Future History" stories. One of the best known is "Stranger in a Strange Land", but I much preferred "The Door into Summer".
5. What surname was shared by Isaac, his wife Gertrude and their daughter Robyn?

Answer: Asimov

Isaac Asimov was a polymath, author of books on too many subjects to list. He is arguably best known for his science fiction, but my personal favourites among his work are the "Black Widower" stories.

9. What surname linked Alan and his wife Dorothy (known as Daphne) and their son, Christopher Robin?

Answer: Milne

Answer: Pullein-Thompson

Christine, Diana and Josephine Pullein-Thompson all wrote pony books and family adventure. Their mother was Joanna Cannan, who also wrote - pony books.
