The legend says that Captain Bligh's harsh treatment of the crew caused them to mutiny. They placed the captain and 18 of his crew in an open boat and set it adrift. They managed to sail over 3000 miles and land in Timor. Some dispute the notion that Bligh was cruel and instead blame a six month stay in Tahiti.

It seems the crew grew attached to the Tahitians and they were unhappy about having to leave in order to complete their assignment of delivering breadfruit trees to the West Indies.

After escaping from his first exile on Elba, Napoleon gathered an army together and reclaimed his imperial throne. However keeping his throne was another matter. Knowing that the armies of Europe would gather to depose him, he decided to march to Belgium to surprise the British and Prussians.

At the village of Waterloo, he attacked the British army which was led by the Duke of Wellington. Napoleon risked everything and threw everything he had at the British. But the British remained steadfast until 72,000 Prussian troops came to aid them. Napoleon escaped but surrendered to the British four days later.

This time he was exiled to the island of St Helena in the south Atlantic Ocean where he remained a prisoner until his death in 1821.
