She laundered money at the horse track and lured men into placing bets on fixed boxing matches.

Back in Sicily, Michael and Apollonia had married, but she was soon after killed in a car bomb that was meant for Michael. Appolonia was played by actress Simonetta Stefanelli.

At the age of 81, Bulger was finally arrested with Ms Greig outside a Santa Monica apartment on June 22, 2011. They were extradited to Massachusetts and on June 12, 2013, Bulger went on trial for 32 counts of racketeering, money laundering, extortion, weapons charges, and for taking part in 19 murders. The trial resulted in two consecutive life sentences.
