Numbers 12:10 tells of Miriam becoming leprous, "as white as snow", after God's anger was roused against her. The passage goes on to tell of Moses pouring out his heart to God, begging Him to heal his sister Miriam. The prayers of Moses were answered and seven days later Miriam was re-instated in the Israelite camp.

Answer: Ruth

Details about Naomi changing her name to Mara can be found in Ruth 1:20. According to notes in the NKJV Study Bible, Naomi means 'pleasant' while Mara means 'bitter'. Scripture states Naomi told people to call her Mara after the deaths of her husband Elimelech and her two sons, Mahlon and Chilion. (In the NIV, Chilion is known as Kilion.)

No details are given about the cause of death for the three men. Naomi was the mother-in-law of Ruth who, after becoming a widow, married Boaz. Their marriage would result in the birth of Obed, the grandfather of King David.

Ehud and Tola were judges of Israel and understandably their exploits are documented in the book of Judges. (Bear in mind there are other Bible characters with the same name with their names appearing in other Old Testament books.)

According to Judges 3:12-30, Ehud was a left-handed judge of Israel who is best known for stabbing to death Eglon, the obese king of Moab.

Meanwhile, Judges 10:1-2 states Tola was the son of Puah, and he judged Israel twenty-three years. He was buried in Shamir.

Answer: 1 Samuel

Hannah and Peninnah were both married to Elkaneh, according to 1 Samuel. While Peninniah was the mother of an unstated number of children, Scripture states Hannah was unable to conceive and she became depressed over her condition. Making matters worse, Peninniah would provoke Hannah severely, simply "to make her miserable."

Scripture goes on to tell of Hannah fervently praying to God and giving birth to a baby boy. The baby was called Samuel and he would become a noted judge of Israel.

Answer: Exodus

The book of Exodus contains details about the Red Sea being miraculously parted, enabling the Israelites to stage a mass exodus out of Egypt and go to Canaan, known as the Promised Land. (See Exodus 14 and 15.)

Scripture states God parted the sea after ten highly punishing plagues were unleashed on Egypt, all designed to convince the Pharaoh to grant permission to the Israelites to leave the country. The plagues ranged from water turning into blood to the death of every first born Egyptian.

Jemimah, Keziah and Keren-Happuch were three daughters of Job. According to Job 42:14, the three girls were born in Job's latter years after he survived a series of calamities in which he lost ten children in a windstorm, had his wealth wiped out and his health deteriorate.

In a complete reversal, Chapter 42 tells of Job becoming the father of ten more children in his latter years, regaining his health and having twice as much wealth as before. According to Scripture, "in all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers."

Answer: Nehemiah

Details about Sanballat being a vehement opponent of plans to rebuild a wall around Jerusalem can be found in Nehemiah. Joining Sanballat in his opposition to the construction project were Tobiah and Geshem. The construction project was spearheaded by Nehemiah and, despite considerable opposition, the wall was quickly built.

Proverbs 3:13 contains the verse, "Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding." (In the NIV, the verse states, "Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding.")

Proverbs consists of thirty-one chapters, using Bible versions such as the KJV, NKJV and the NIV. The book is largely a collection of witty sayings with many of them based on the themes of wisdom and understanding.

The correct answer is Song of Solomon, a Bible book that tells of a passionate love affair between a king and unnamed Shulamite maiden. In Song of Solomon 4:4, the king describes his beloved this way: "Your neck is like the tower of David, built for an armory, on which hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men."

In Chapter 4, the king also states his beloved has "dove's eyes" and her hair is like "a flock of goats" while her teeth are like "a flock of shorn sheep Which have come up from the washing."
