Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Ugh! We can't find Jesus. We are going back to Jerusalem to look for him there. If you see him, please send us a message letting us know and we'll come and get him." There are two possible answers but only one is among the following choices. Which one of the following might have posted this?

Answer: Joseph

Luke 2 states that Mary and Joseph went to Jerusalem for the Passover holiday, as was customary. When Jesus was 12 years old, they went and when they were returning from Jerusalem to Nazareth, they realized that Jesus was not with them. This is when one of them might have posted this on Facebook.

They went back and found Jesus in the temple. When told that they had been searching for him he said they shouldn't have had to search because they should have known he'd be in his Father's house.
2. "Who would have thought Mount Sinai had Wifi? Well, I'm connected and waiting for my brother to come down from the mountain. The people are getting tired of waiting on him. I'm even hearing rumors of people wanting to go back to slavery in Egypt or, worse, give up on God! They've even asked me to make them a golden calf to worship! I sure hope Moses gets down here soon." Who might have posted this?

Answer: Aaron

After the Israelites were freed from Egypt and were wandering in the desert, they made their discontent quite clear to Moses several times. In Exodus 14, they were at the Red Sea with no way to get across, or so they thought. They saw the Egyptians coming because Pharaoh decided he wanted them back to be his slaves. With the Egyptian army behind them and the Red Sea ahead of them, they thought it was hopeless and told Moses that it would have been better to stay slaves in Egypt rather then die in the desert. That is in Exodus 13-14.

Later on, they were encamped at Mount Sinai and Moses was on the mountain getting God's laws for them. He was up there for so long that the Israelites thought he'd never come back down and they decided that they were going to make a golden statue to worship.

They went to Aaron and asked him to make them gods who would go before them. Aaron might have posted that on Facebook after this. He told them to give him their gold earrings so he could make them into a golden calf.

When God saw this, he told Moses to go down because the people had become corrupt. At first, God wanted to destroy them and make Moses' descendants into a great nation but Moses asked God to have mercy and he did. Moses went down and ground the calf into powder and made them drink it. This can be found in Exodus 32.
3. "Elijah is gone, as I knew he would be by the end of the day. The chariots and horses of fire came down as we were walking together and came right between us and then he went up in a whirlwind. All that's left of him is his cloak, which I've claimed as my own." Who might have written this for their status update?

Answer: Elisha

Elisha might have written this after watching Elijah go to Heaven in a whirlwind accompanied by chariots and horses of fire. He had been following Elijah all day, refusing to leave him, and was with him when he was taken. After this he met up with fifty men from Jericho who asked if they could go looking for Elijah, thinking maybe God had taken him and set him down somewhere else. Elisha advised against it but they persisted so he told them they could go.

They searched for three days but couldn't find him, so they went and found Elisha in Jericho and told him that they couldn't find Elijah. Elisha then reminded them that he had told them not to go in the first place.

This can be found in 2 Kings 2.
4. "Thanks for the birthday wishes everybody. 969 years old, wow! I've got to be the oldest person of all time!" Who might have posted this on their wall?

Answer: Methuselah

Methuselah is known for being the longest living person in history. He might have posted this after his 969th and final birthday. The only things we know about Methuselah are that he's the son of Enoch; that he's the father of Lemech, who is the father of Noah; and that he was 969 years old when he died. This can be found in Genesis 5:21-27.
5. "I can't believe I just betrayed the Son of God for money! How could I do such a thing?!" Who might have posted this?

Answer: Judas

Judas might have posted this after he betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. He felt so bad after what he'd done that he returned the money and hanged himself. This can be found in Matthew 27.
6. "Well, everybody, this is going to sound absolutely ridiculous but I'm pregnant! 90 years old and I'm gonna have my first baby!" Who might have written this for their status update?

Answer: Sarah

Sarah might have posted this when, after 90 years of being barren, she became pregnant. When she was told by the Lord that she was going to have a baby she laughed. Sarah was ninety years old and Abraham was 99. This can be found in Genesis 17-18.
7. "Oh my goodness! My donkey just spoke to me! She was acting weird and kept turning when I didn't tell her to turn so I beat her and then she asked me, I mean literally asked me why I was beating her! I may have to join the circus with this act!" Who might have posted this on Facebook?

Answer: Balaam

In Numbers 22 Balak, the king of Moab, saw that the Israelites had settled next to him and were too numerous for him to defeat and drive away. He decided to have Balaam curse them because he thought this would make him able to defeat them. He sent men with money for Balaam asking him to curse Israel for him. Balaam told the men to stay with him. So they stayed and that night the Lord told him not to do it, so he refused the offer and sent the men back to the king. The king then sent another bunch of men to Balaam and he told them to stay the night while he asked God what to do. God told him to go but only to do what he was told to do.

The next morning Balaam saddled his donkey and went with the men. The angel of the Lord stood in the road to oppose Balaam. When Balaam's donkey saw the angel, she turned off the road and Balaam beat her and got her back onto the road. This happened three times and then the Lord opened the donkey's mouth and she asked Balaam why he'd beaten her three times. Balaam said that she'd made a fool of him and he would have killed her if he'd had a sword. The donkey told him that she was his own donkey and asked him if she was in the habit of doing such things. He said no and then the Lord opened his eyes so he could see the angel of the Lord in the path with his sword drawn. When Balaam saw the angel he fell facedown on the ground. The angel asked him why he'd beaten the donkey and said that if the donkey hadn't turned, he would have killed him but spared the donkey.

Balaam might have posted this on Facebook after the donkey spoke to him.
8. "I can't believe this! Here I was thinking I would go into Nineveh, tell them to repent, they'd refuse and then they would receive the judgement they deserve. But no, why would that happen? They repented and God let them live! After all they did to God's chosen people, didn't they deserve to die? How could God let them live? I'm SO mad at God right now!" Who might have posted this on their wall?

Answer: Jonah

Jonah might have posted this after God sent him to Nineveh to tell the people there to repent or they would be destroyed. After he ran from the situation and went through some bizarre situations (including being swallowed by a whale and being puked out after three days in its stomach) as God had to pull him back on the right track, he arrived in Nineveh and started telling them to repent. They listened to him and the king ordered that everyone fast and wear sackcloth. When God saw what they did, he had compassion on them and didn't destroy them.

When Jonah heard that God had had compassion on them, he was angered at God and even asked God to take his life because Jonah thought it was better to be dead than to live. God then told him that he had no right to be angry. This can all be found in the book of Jonah in the Old Testament.
9. "I've just received the most vivid vision I've ever seen! It's all about the end times. I'll probably be gone for a while typing it all up along with the seven letters God told me to write to Churches in the province of Asia. More info later." Who might have posted this from the island of Patmos?

Answer: John

John might have posted this after receiving the vision which he described in depth in the book of Revelation. The letters to the seven churches can be found in Revelation 2-3. His description of the vision can be found in Revelation 4-22.
10. "Well, I'm not so sure about this but the Lord told me to go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and heal Saul, the very same Saul who has killed so many of Christ's followers. So, yeah I'm more than a little nervous but I know that God has it all under control so I'm going... Prayers please." Who might have updated their Facebook status with this posting?

Answer: Ananias

Ananias might have posted this after he was told by God to go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and heal him. He protested to God but God told him to go because he had a plan for Saul's life.

Saul had been going from Jerusalem to Damascus to capture the Christians he could find. On the way there, a light came down from Heaven and Jesus asked him why he was persecuting him. He then told Saul to go to the city and he'd be told what to do from there. After this, Saul got up but was blinded by the light so the men with him helped him to the city.

Ananias went to the house and did as the Lord had told him. Saul was healed and filled with the Holy Spirit at the same time.

This can all be found in Acts 9.
