Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In 2 Samuel 21:20, a giant is slain who has which of the following odd characteristics?

Answer: 12 fingers and 12 toes

This passage mentions a giant man, believed to be a Philistine, who was born with 12 fingers and 12 toes. It goes on to say that he defied Israel, which led to his death at the hand of Jonathan and his assistants.
2. According to 2 Kings 2:23-25, what happens to the group of children who mock the prophet Elisha?

Answer: They are killed by bears.

According to this passage, these juveniles mock Elisha about being bald. In his anger he curses them in the name of God. At this time a female bear walks out of the nearby woods and mauls all of them to death. Whether this was what Elisha was expecting is not known.
3. According to Daniel 4:30-37, which one of these Biblical men is cursed by God and made to look and act like an animal?

Answer: Nebuchadnezzar

Because of his lack of faith, Nebuchadnezzar is condemned to look and act like an animal. He is said to have eaten grass like an ox and grown feathers. By the end of the day, he raises his claws to heaven and acknowledges that he is but a lowly man and pledges his loyalty to God.
4. Which one of these mythical beasts is mentioned in Psalms 92:10 (King James Version)?

Answer: Unicorn

Unicorns are mentioned a number of times in the Old Testament. The exact identity for these animals is not known. Some scholars believe that the word may describe rhinoceros, while others believe they may be a now-extinct unknown species.
5. The disciple Paul is believed to be responsible for writing both Revelation and Ecclesiastes.

Answer: False

The authors of both of these Biblical books are not known for sure. The author of Revelations identifies himself as John, but there is no consensus between Biblical scholars about which John this might be. The author of Ecclesiastes is not known, although there are some who think that Solomon may have written it.
6. In which book of the King James Bible do we find the shortest verse in the Bible, "Jesus wept"?

Answer: John

According to the King James Bible, John 11:35 reads only two words, "Jesus wept". It should be noted that while it is the shortest verse when written in English, this may not be the fact when written in its original language. This passage tells of the reaction of Jesus when he arrives to find to find that Lazarus has died.

After praying aloud to God he proceeds to raise Lazarus from the dead to the complete amazement of those around him, including his mother.
7. According to John 2: 1-11, Jesus turns water into wine at a wedding in which of the following cities?

Answer: Cana

While attending a wedding ceremony in Cana, Jesus is recorded to have turned water into wine. This act is considered by most Biblical scholars to be the first recorded miracle performed by Jesus. He is thought to have been in his early twenties when he performed this act.
8. According to Mark 5:8-20, Jesus comes upon a demon-possessed man whom he cures. Where does he command the demons to go?

Answer: Into a group of pigs

Jesus allows the demons to enter a group of pigs. At this time the group of pigs runs into the sea where they all drown. The grateful man that has been helped by Jesus wants to follow him and be a disciple. Jesus tells him no, and sends him home to his family and friends instructing him to spread the word of the Lord.
9. According to Act 28: 7-10, which disciple lived on the island of Malta for three months after surviving a shipwreck?

Answer: Paul

The Bible tells us that the disciple Paul and his assistants survive a shipwreck and end up living on the island of Malta for three months. They are recorded as living in the home of Publius, the chief official of the island. While there, Paul visits the father of his host, who is bedridden with an unknown ailment.

After Paul heals him, many of the islanders come to him hoping for their own cure.
10. According to Numbers 22: 23-30, which of the following men gets into an argument with his donkey?

Answer: Balaam

According to the Bible, when an angel blocks the path of Balaam and his donkey, the donkey speaks to his owner. He refuses to go forward, as he is the only one who can see the angel with the flaming sword. Balaam proceeds to hit the donkey three times for his disobedience.

At this time the Lord opens the eyes of Balaam and allows him to behold the angel also. God scolds Balaam and tells him that he owes his life to his donkey for refusing to go ahead. Balaam falls to his knees and begs forgiveness for his transgressions, at which time he is told to go and spread the word of the Lord.
