1. A twilight zone phenomenon! Two prophets were walking along chatting, when suddenly chariots and horses of fire appeared and one of them was majestically taken up to heaven. What form of transportation was used for the prophet's flight?

2 Kings 2: 11-12 gives Elisha's account of Elijah's journey up to heaven. He said that as they were walking along, chariots and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them and Elijah was taken up to heaven in a whirlwind as he stood there and watched in awe.

2. What an eerie situation this must have been! A demon in a possessed man recognized Jesus and addressed Him as: "Son of The Most High God!" He then begged Him not to torture them (there were many demons in the man) but to allow them to enter into some nearby pigs, and He gave them permission to do so. What was the fate of the newly possessed swine? Mark 5: 8-20.

This extraordinary event occurred when Jesus healed a demon possessed man that was well known to the villagers. He never wore clothes and no one could constrain him but at the command of Jesus they left his body (they were about two thousand) and he immediately became sane.

The demons then asked Jesus to allow them to enter some nearby pigs and when they did, the swine ran violently down a steep hill and into the sea where they drowned. The people were very afraid after witnessing this event and they asked Jesus to leave their region.

The healed man wanted to follow Jesus but He told him to go home to his family and friends and tell them of the wonderful things the Lord had done for him. Mark 5: 6-20.

3. Miraculous! This woman had a blood disorder for many years and no one could cure her. One day as Jesus was passing by, she touched the hem of His garment and was immediately healed. How many years did she suffer this affliction? Mark 5: 25-30

Answer: 12

A certain woman had a blood disease for twelve years and none of the doctors she attended was able to help her. She had heard of Jesus' miracles and so in faith one day as He was passing by, she touched the hem of His robe and was instantaneously healed! Jesus looked at the crowd and asked, "Who touched my clothes?" (He felt the healing power leaving His body.) The woman was afraid and fell before Him and confessed what had happened. Jesus said to her, "Go in peace and be healed of your affliction." Wow! Mark 5:25-30.

4. Stranger than fiction! These young sons of prophets were cutting beams by the Jordan river, when one of them lost his ax head in the water. Elisha was notified and he made the iron float. What did he put into the water to achieve this unbelievable outcome? 2 Kings 6: 1-7.

Answer: a stick

A group of young men were cutting beams to build their homes, when one of them lost his ax head in the water. Elisha was shown the place where the iron fell and he threw in a piece of a stick, and by the power given to him by God, he made the ax head float so that it could be easily retrieved. Remarkable!

5. Three of Jesus' disciples witnessed His Transfiguration, where His garments became a dazzling white as was never seen before. Two former prophets appeared and a cloud spoke saying, "This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!" What are the names of the three who witnessed this spectacular sight?

Answer: John, Peter and James

Jesus took Peter, James and John to the top of a mountain where they saw His Transfiguration. It is recorded that as they were standing there, the clothes of Jesus became dazzling white and His face shone brightly. Elijah and Moses appeared and Peter was so afraid, he started a conversation of small talk because he knew not what to say.

A cloud then overshadowed them and a voice from the cloud identified Jesus as His beloved Son and said that He was well please with Him. Suddenly they looked around and no one else was there except Jesus.

He then commanded them not to tell anyone of the things they had seen, until after His resurrection. Mark 9: 2-10

6. Incomprehensible but true according to Matthew 1: 18-23. When a young man learned that his bride to be was pregnant, he wanted to call off the engagement but an angel told him that she was impregnated by The Holy Spirit and would have a son but she was still a virgin. Which name of this auspicious child means "God with us?"

Answer: Immanuel

This amazing story is about a man called Joseph who wanted to call off his wedding when his betrothed became pregnant. An angel of the Lord told him however, that she had conceived by the Holy Spirit and was still a virgin. The angel also explained to him that he should call the child "Immanuel" which means, "God with us." Joseph was also told another wonderful thing, the child was to be given another name "Jesus" which means, "He will save His people from their sins." So even before His birth Immanuel's supernatural task was foretold in His given names and because of this awesome work He had to do, His conception had to have divine intervention. Matthew 1: 18-23.

7. Everyone knows the amazing story of how Moses parted the Red Sea, but do you know the names of two other prophets who accomplished the same feat with the Jordan River? 2 Kings 2: 8-12.

Answer: Elijah and Elisha

According to 2 Kings 2: 8, 12-14, Elijah took his cloak, rolled it up and struck the water of the Jordan River, and it parted for Elisha and himself to cross over on dry land. On his return from the other side of the Jordan, Elisha did the same thing and his God-given power allowed him to divide the water for his safe crossing.

8. Jesus said these words "Talitha Cumi!" to a twelve year old and immediately the child was raised from the dead. Which of the below mentioned children had this extraordinary story to tell? Mark 5: 22, 41.

Answer: the ruler of the synagogue's daughter

All four of these children were raised from the dead but only Jairus' daughter (the ruler of the synagogue) was told these words, "Talitha Cumi!" which means, "Little girl arise!" and she arose and walked. Then Jesus asked them to give her something to eat. Mark 5:22-24; 39-43.

9. Do you know the name of a prophet who performed a miraculous act and fed one hundred people with twenty barley loaves? 2 Kings 4: 42-44.

Answer: Elisha

Matthew 14: 17-21 and 15: 34-39 respectively records the events of how Jesus fed five thousand people with five barley loaves and two fish and also fed over four thousand with seven loaves and a few fish, with left overs. Elisha similarly fed one hundred people with twenty barley loaves and some newly ripened grain and had left overs as well. 2 Kings 4: 42-44.

10. Three of Daniel's companions were thrown into a fiery furnace for refusing to worship the king's golden image. They worshiped only Daniel's God and were prepared to die for their faith. How many supernatural beings were seen walking and talking with them in the fire unharmed? Daniel 3: 23-25.

Answer: one

King Nebuchadnezzar's men at his command, threw Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego into an over heated furnace for refusing to worship his idol. The king sat in anticipation of their demise but he was astonished when he saw four men instead of three in the midst of the fire and he said, "The form of the fourth is like that of the Son of God." The king then ran to the the mouth of the furnace shouting and calling them by name, "Servants of The Most High God, come out of there!" Then he commanded all the people of his nation not to say anything amiss of their God, for he said, "There is no other God who can deliver like this." And so even today based on this extraordinary event, we have the saying "Daniel's God surely will deliver." Amen.
