1. Which of these is NOT a book in the Bible?

Answer: Moses

The answer is Moses. Although Moses is often referred to in the Bible and is reputed to have written some of the first five books, there is not actually a book called Moses.
2. Some of the earliest Christian Bibles were hand-written and illustrated. Who generally did this work in the Dark Ages and medieval times?

Answer: Monks

Bibles and other books of scripture were produced by monks in the early monasteries. They were written in Latin, in finest calligraphy and with illuminated pages and letters.
One example is the Book of Kells which was produced about the eighth century and contains the Four Gospels. It can be seen at Trinity College Library in Dublin.
3. Who is believed to have written most of the Psalms?

Answer: David

Most of the Psalms are attributed to David, but it is possible that there were other authors as well.
4. The first five books of the Old Testament have a special name to Christians. What is it?

Answer: The Pentateuch

They are called the Pentateuch and are known to Jews as the Torah. They are the books of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. It was traditionally thought that they were written by Moses, but there does not appear to be any proof of this.

The first Bible to be printed mechanically was in 1456, when Johannes Gutenberg, a German engraver, set up a method of printing. It is known as the Gutenberg Bible.
Twenty-one copies of this Bible are still in existence in various libraries throughout the world, including the British Library in London and the Bodleian in Oxford, England.

The Bible Society aims to get the Bible published in as many languages as possible and distribute them throughout the world so that people can have a copy in their own language. At the time of this writing they were working on more than 450 translations.
They also produce Bibles in Braille and in audio versions.
10. Paul wrote two of his epistles to the Thessalonians. Where was Thessalonica?

Answer: Greece

Thessalonica was situated in what was then Macedonia, in what is now Greece. Paul had recently visited them and had converted them to Christianity and was writing to them to help them keep strong in their faith. They are the thirteenth and fourteenth books of the New testament.
