Io is the most volcanically active object in our solar system; it contains at least 100 active volcanoes.
2. Which Galilean moon was the last to be discovered?

Answer: Ganymede

Io, Callisto, and Europa were discovered on January 7, 1610. Ganymede was discovered 3 days later. When Jupiter was first viewed by Galileo, Ganymede was behind Jupiter.

Answer: Callisto

Gipul Catena was probably caused by an object that was tidally disrupted as it passed close to Jupiter, and impacted on Callisto in along its path.
