Answer: David Price

David Price started Games 1 and 5, as did Cliff Lee for Texas. Price gave up five runs in 6-2/3 innings in Game 1 and three runs in six innings in Game 5.

3. What was the final score of Game 1?

Answer: 5-1, Rangers

Games 1 and 5 were won by the Rangers 5-1. Game 3 was won by Tampa Bay 6-3 in Arlington, and Game 2 was won by Texas by the score of 6-0. No game went 5-1 Tampa Bay, but Game 4 was 5-2, Tampa Bay.
4. What was Michael Young's first hit of the series?

Answer: home run

In the fifth inning of Game 2, Michael Young had been 0-4 in the series to that point. On a 2-2 pitch, Young checked his swing according to the first base umpire Jerry Meals. The very next pitch, Young belts a 3-run home run into center field. The Rays' manager Joe Maddon came out to argue and was tossed by the home plate umpire.
5. How many runs did the Rays score at home in the first two games?

Answer: 1

The Rays lost Game 1, 5-1 and Game 2, 6-0, scoring only one run in front of their home crowd. When the series shifted to Arlington, the Rays scored 11 runs, six in Game 3 and five more in Game 4. The Rangers also scored 11 at Tampa Bay in the first two games.

Answer: 1996

The Rangers last postseason win before their Game 1 win was Game 1 in the 1996 ALDS against the New York Yankees. The 1997 season did not see the Rangers in the playoffs, and the 1998 and 1999 postseasons saw the Rangers get swept by the Yankees. Going into the 2010 ALDS, the Rangers were 1-9 (.100) in the postseason, all against the Yankees.
8. How many strikeouts did Cliff Lee have in the series?

Answer: 21

The Rangers record for the postseason before this series was nine strikeouts set by Rick Helling in 1998. Cliff Lee broke that record in Game 1 with 10 strikeouts, then broke his own record in Game 5 with 11 more.

Answer: 0
