Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which one of these is *not* an official color of the Baltimore Ravens?

Answer: Blue

The Ravens are known for their signature purple colored jerseys, as purple is the primary color. The Ravens also use black in their logo and uniforms. Gold is used a little in their logo and also in every uniform. Blue is not a primary or secondary color of the Ravens and has never been used.
2. In 1996, Art Modell moved his team from which city to Baltimore to become the Ravens?

Answer: Cleveland

The beloved Cleveland Browns moved to Baltimore and began playing as the Ravens in the 1996 season under head coach Tim Marchibroda. The move was a big controversy, but it died down when Cleveland got a new Browns team.
3. Who was the first player the Ravens ever drafted in their history?

Answer: Jonathan Ogden

In the 1996 draft, the Ravens had the 4th and 29th overall picks. With the 4th pick in the draft, the Ravens picked future 11-time Pro-Bowler Jonathan Ogden, an offensive lineman out of UCLA. He was a long time Raven as he retired in 2008. With the 29th pick in that draft, the Ravens selected the legendary Ray Lewis.
4. Under which head coach did the Ravens win Super Bowl XXXV?

Answer: Brian Billick

Brian Billick was coach of the Ravens from 1997-2007. He was a key part of pulling the Ravens together and making them a Super Bowl winning team. His regular season record with the Ravens was 80-64, while his postseason record was 5-3. After Billick was fired in 2007, the Ravens hired John Harbaugh as head coach.
5. Which stadium opened in 1998 as a new home to the Ravens?

Answer: M&T Bank Stadium

M&T Bank Stadium is located near Orioles Stadium in Baltimore. The seats are purple like the team. It was opened in 1998 and was the first stadium opened specifically for the Ravens. Before, the Ravens would play in Memorial Stadium, same as the old Baltimore Colts. Old names for the stadium include Ravens Stadium and PSINet Stadium.
6. In which of these years did the Ravens win their division?

Answer: 2003

The Ravens won their first division championship in 2003, unlike 2000, when they entered as a wild card team. The Ravens went 10-6 in the regular season that year. They lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Titans by a field goal. The playoffs ended in disappointment for Baltimore that year.
7. Which one of these people is not in the Ravens Ring of Honor?

Answer: Drew Bledsoe

The Ravens Ring of Honor is a gallery of photos in M&T Bank Stadium that honors the greatest players and important people in Baltimore football. The Ring includes 8 former Colts players and Art Modell, former owner. Drew Bledsoe has never played for the Ravens in his career, so he is not a part of the Ring.

The Ring includes Earnest Byner, Jonathan Ogden, Peter Boulware, Michael McCrary, Art Modell, Johnny Unitas, Raymond Berry, Art Donovan, Jim Parker, Lenny Moore, Gino Marchetti, Ted Hendricks, and John Mackey.
8. The Ravens have had a former player go to the Hall of Fame.

Answer: True

Rod Woodson in one. He was a successful cornerback and safety for the Steelers before coming over to the Ravens in 1998. He stayed with them until 2001. He was an 11-time Pro-Bowler, and he won his only Super Bowl with the Ravens in 2000.
9. The Ravens had a disappointing season in 2007, when they lost to which winless team, giving them their first win of the season?

Answer: Miami Dolphins

It was a disappointing season indeed. The Ravens went 5-11, losing to the Miami Dolphins in a crushing overtime defeat. Things weren't going well for the Ravens, and they fired their long time head coach Brian Billick.
10. The Ravens started fresh after the disappointing season in 2007, by hiring which new head coach and drafting which new quarterback in 2008?

Answer: John Harbaugh-Joe Flacco

Joe Flacco was almost a symbol of hope for the Ravens, and under the coaching of John Harbaugh, the Baltimore Ravens went to 11-5, and made it to the AFC Championship that year. They lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens improved their offense while keeping their great defense with the help of so many.
