Answer: Phoenix Firebirds

The Firebirds were formerly known as the Giants. The team and franchise's final game was a 7-1 loss to the Edmonton Trappers in the 1997 Pacific Coast League championship series. The Arizona Diamondbacks started play in the National League in 1998.
2. Which Sun Devil started his career at ASU on a football scholarship?

Answer: Reggie Jackson

In 1964, Reggie played freshman football on a full ride scholarship, but wasn't happy with the football regime. He started to hang out with the Sun Devil baseball players and joined the team. By the end of his sophomore year he was ranked second in the amateur draft. He was drafted by the Athletics as the overall 2nd pick in 1967.

Warren Field in Bisbee is probably the nations oldest ballpark, having opened in 1909. The field was home to the Bisbee Bees, Bisbee Yanks, Bisbee Miners, and the Bisbee Copper Kings during the period of 1928-1955. Local High School, semi-pro and amateur teams have played there since the opening in 1909.

Answer: Jim Palmer

Jim pitched for the Orioles just 2 years after graduating from Scottsdale High School. He was a three-sport stater in high school playing football and basketball as well as baseball. Jim was named all-state in basketball in his senior year, averaging 21.9 points per game.

He was second team all-state in football at wide receiver. He finished his Major League baseball career with 268 wins.
