Brett grew up in Kiln, Mississippi and played high school football at Hancock North Central High. Brett's father, Irv Favre was his coach.
Irv's offense was run orientated so Brett did not get a chance to show his arm strength much. The only college to offer him a scholarship was Southern Mississippi.
