The game was between Schultz's Anderson Packers and the Syracuse Nationals on Thanksgiving Day 1949. It became known as the most foul plagued game in NBA history, a total of 122 personal fouls were called.

The Celtics were 47-1 in Boston, including the playoffs, during the 1985-86 season. Their only loss came when Portland visited the Garden on December 6, 1985, defeating the Celtics 121-103.
