When he retired in 1998, John Elway had the most victories by any starting quarterback. He played his entire career with the Denver Broncos and then went on to become the Executive Vice-President of Football Operations for the team. He led his team to five Super Bowls of which they won two.

Although he was the first player chosen in the 1983 draft, the Baltimore Colts traded him immediately to Denver where he went on to a long, record-setting career.
