Anderson suffered a massive heart attack and died in 1978, ending his illustrious career for NYRA. Henson called at Hollywood Park until 1983, Georgeff in Illinois until 1991, and Hernandez was the long-time Santa Anita announcer until 1972.

Johnson also called many other stakes races for ESPN/ABC in addition to his regular duties at the Meadowlands.
