Answer: Maurice Richard

Maurice "the Rocket" Richard was the first head coach of the Nordiques, but he stepped down after just one game. He did so to spend more time with his family.
2. Who was the first goalie to wear a mask in a game?

Answer: Clint Benedict

Clint Benedict wore his mask in Februrary of 1930 because his nose was broken by Howie Morenz. He only wore it for five games before giving it up because it interfered with his vision.
3. What was the name of the player that caused the injury to Jacques Plante in 1959, that caused him to start wearing a goalie mask?

Answer: Andy Bathgate

The date was November 1, 1959. Needless to say, Toe Blake, Plante's coach at the time, wasn't too happy with Plante donning the mask, but at that time, he had no other goalie to call upon.
