Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Michael Jordan averaged 41 points per game in a NBA Finals series. Which NBA team did he do this against?

Answer: Phoenix Suns

The Chicago Bulls played Charles Barkley and the Suns in the 1993 Finals, which the Bulls won in six. That was when Chicago won their third title. Michael had many big scoring games in that series. He had his biggest scoring game ever in the Finals, 55 points in Game 4, and scored 40-plus points in 3 other games.

The two games against Phoenix that MJ scored below 40 were Game 1, in which he pumped in 31, and Game 6, in which he had 33. Nine of those 33 came in the 4th quarter, which turned out to be all the points in that quarter for the Bulls other than John Paxson's memorable game-winning three-pointer.
2. What is the highest number of points Michael scored in an NBA All-Star game?

Answer: 40

This was the 1988 game, which was played at the Bulls' old home court, the Chicago Stadium. MJ was named the game's MVP.
3. Which Michael Jackson music video did Jordan make an appearance in?

Answer: "Jam"

In "Jam", the two famous Michaels showcased what they do best. The King Of Pop dances while number 23 shoots hoops and dunks. Part of the video has Jordan showing Jackson how to shoot the basketball. The conclusion of the video is pretty interesting. The King Of Pop teaches the greatest basketball player some dance steps, including the moonwalk. "Jam" was filmed in Chicago.
4. Which TV sportscaster called Michael Jordan's 63-point performance against the Boston Celtics in 1986?

Answer: Dick Stockton

Stockton did the play-by-play for CBS' coverage of Game 2 of the first round playoff series between the Bulls and the Celtics in 1986. Besides that contest, Stockton also called Michael's famous shot against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5 of the 1989 first round playoff series for CBS. Marv Albert covered a lot of memorable moments of Michael and the Bulls for NBC during their title runs in the 1990s. Dick Enberg also did some Bulls games for the peacock network during that time. Bob Costas called Jordan's final shot in a Bulls uniform against the Utah Jazz in the 1998 NBA Finals.
5. Which current Chicago Bulls basketball player did Michael treat to a Chicago Cubs game in 2004?

Answer: Ben Gordon

This was just before Gordon's rookie season and after he won the NCAA basketball championship with UConn. Jordan also was a mentor to Ben in 2004. Michael is best known for his attempt at a baseball career by playing for the Brimingham Barrons, a minor league team for the Chicago White Sox, who are the crosstown rivals of the Cubs.

But MJ also rooted for the Cubs and was sometimes seen at Wrigley Field during his heyday with the Bulls. In 1998, he threw out the first pitch prior to the Cubs one-game playoff against the San Francisco Giants.

In 2003, the year the Cubs came close to reaching the World Series, Jordan visited the Cubs clubhouse. In 1989, Michael predicted the Cubs would play the A's in the World Series. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the Giants and A's in that Fall Classic.
6. Michael Jordan used to run a restaurant in Chicago. What was the name of the place?

Answer: Michael Jordan's: The Restaurant

It was a place for every Jordan fan to go to and enjoy. There were photos on the walls of MJ in action on the basketball court, Sports Illustrated covers, and autographed photos of celebrites, who went for a visit. The food was delicious, especially the pasta dishes.
7. How many points did Jordan score in the NBA Finals game in 1997, wherein he was playing while ill?

Answer: 38

In game 5 of that series against the Utah Jazz in which the Bulls won 90-88. The win gave Chicago a 3-2 series advantage before winning their 5th championship in Game 6. Michael had 15 points in the 4th quarter of Game 5 including the three-pointer that lifted the Bulls to the win.
8. In two McDonald's TV spots that premiered during NBC's Super Bowl telecasts in 1993 and 1994, Michael Jordan played a game of horse with which NBA legend?

Answer: Larry Bird

Both basketball phenoms were shooting to get Michael's food, which included a Big Mac. What was interesting is they shot from places such on top of the John Hancock Center in Chicago and from outer space. In the second spot that premiered in 1994, Charles Barkley made an appearance. He wanted to join Bird and Jordan in the game, but they refused to.
9. March 19, 1995, marked the first game of Jordan's second comeback with the Chicago Bulls. How many points did Michael score in that game?

Answer: 19

It was on 7 of 28 shooting from the field and 5 of 6 from the free throw line. Since it was his first game back from his first retirement, Michael had trouble with his outside shooting, but he was able to display his vintage moves during that game as well being able to get his own shot.

It wasn't a bad performance as he still was able to score 19 points in the Bulls' 103-96 overtime loss to Reggie Miller and the Indiana Pacers. Michael's partner, Scottie Pippen, had a great game, scoring 30 points including a three-pointer that sent the game into overtime.
10. How many points did Jordan score in his final game as a Chicago Bull?

Answer: 45

This was Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz wherein Michael hit that famous game winning jumper that helped the Bulls win their sixth championship. Had MJ not made another comeback with the Washington Wizards, that shot would've been the perfect ending for an amazing career. Jordan scored 40-plus points in a handful of NBA Finals games, but this was the only time he scored at least 40 or in a game that won the championship for the Bulls.

In his final game as a Bull, Michael was 15 of 35 from the field, but he got a lot of points from the free throw line, going 12 of 15 including 8 of 8 in the 4th quarter as he kept the Bulls close against a tough Utah team, whom Jordan praised as the toughest team the Bulls faced among their NBA Finals opponents.
