When the 1997 NFL season ended, Jacksonville Jaguars' quarterback Mark Brunell and Oakland Raiders' Jeff George were the top rated passers in the AFC with a 91.2 rating. Bledsoe of the New England Patriots was third with a 87.7 rating. Elway was fourth, Harbaugh was fifth and Marino was seventh.
