Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which star NFL running back rushed for 1880 yards and a record amount of touchdowns in the 2005-06 regular season?

Answer: Shaun Alexander, Seahawks

Shaun Alexander had a record-breaking season with 27 touchdowns in 16 games. Shaun also had 2 TDs in the playoffs and Super Bowl.
2. During the Super Bowl, Darrell Jackson caught a reception in the end zone, but it was ruled no touchdown. What was the penalty that stopped the Seahawks from scoring?

Answer: Offensive Pass Interference

D-Jack slightly pushed off of Steelers' Chris Hope, then proceeded to receive the ball.
3. Vikings' quarterback Daunte Culpepper did not play 9 games this 2005-06 season. What was the reason for this absence?

Answer: Leg ligament damage

Daunte was out for a lot of the season, so Brad Johnson substituted for a majority of the season.
4. Who was given the MVP Award at Super Bowl XL?

Answer: Hines Ward

Hines Ward earned the award for doing an overall outstanding job, including a 43-yard TD catch thrown by Antwaan Randle El.
5. Which two of these players are cousins?

Answer: Keyshawn Johnson & Chad Johnson

They all have the same last name, but only Keyshawn (a WR on the Dallas Cowboys) and Chad (a WR on the Bengals) have any relation.
6. This Cincinnati wide receiver played for the Oregon State Beavers. He made his debut to the Bengals during the 2001 season. How do you spell this player's last name?

Answer: Houshmandzadeh

Interestingly enough, his last name is 14 letters long, but his first is a simple T.J., short for Touraj.
7. Which team had the worst win/loss record during the 2005-06 season?

Answer: Houston Texans

The 49ers had a record of 4-12, the Browns 6-10, and the Titans 4-12 also. But the Texans had an even worse one with 2-14.
8. Which team had the best win-loss record during the 2005-06 season?

Answer: Indianapolis Colts

Seattle went 13-3. Pittsburgh only went 11-5, and still won the Super Bowl. The Pats went a pretty good 10-6. But the best was Indianapolis with 14 wins and 2 losses.
9. Which running back rushed 75 yards for a touchdown in one play in the second half of Super Bowl XL?

Answer: Willie Parker

Maurice Morris didn't even play in SuperBowl XL. The other three did, but #39 Parker was the only one that rushed for a Super Bowl record-breaking 75-yard run to give the Steelers 6 more points.
10. Which Cincinnati player was injured in the first round of the playoffs against the Steelers?

Answer: Carson Palmer

Carson was hit in the leg on his first pass and was severely injured with a torn ligament. Needless to say, he didn't play for the rest of the game, so Jon Kitna came in. Kitna didn't save the Bengals because the Steelers came out on top with a 31-17 win to advance in the playoffs.
