Answer: Hungary

The Hungarian colours reflect those of their national flag. Sandor Kocsis and Ferenc Puskas scored goals galore for them in the 1950s, and it was a major surprise when they lost the 1954 World Cup Final to West Germany.

Answer: South Korea

South Korea didn't have much of a football pedigree until they co-hosted the 2002 World Cup with Japan. The Koreans took the tournament by storm, with victories over Portugal, Italy and Spain, before eventually losing in the semi-finals to Germany.

Answer: Wales

Wales first qualified for the World Cup in 1958, when they defeated the much-fancied Hungarians on the way to a quarter-final spot. Brazil defeated the Welsh by a single goal in the quarter finals and would eventually defeat host nation Sweden in the final.

Answer: Chile

The colours of the Chilean flag are reflected in their strip of red shirts, blue shorts and white socks. The Chileans reached the final of the 1962 World Cup before losing to Brazil. They then defeated Yugoslavia in the 3rd-place play-off.

Answer: Belgium

The Belgian national team are nicknamed the "Red Devils" due to the colour of their shirts. The Belgians rarely featured at the business end of international tournaments until the 1980s - they were runners-up to West Germany at Euro '80 and reached the semi-finals of the 1986 World Cup, eventually losing out to a Diego Maradona-inspired Argentina.

Answer: Morocco

Morocco take their colours from their red and green national flag. They made their World Cup debut in Mexico in 1970, and their next in the same country in 1986. A last gasp winner by West Germany denied them a quarter final spot at this latter tournament.

Answer: Denmark

Denmark take their colours form those of their national flag. In 1992, the Danes finished second behind Yugoslavia in their European Championship qualifying group, however the civil war in the latter country led to their expulsion and a second chance for Denmark. They took this chance with both hands, defeating Germany in the final.

Answer: Portugal

Portugal lost to hosts England in the semi-final of the 1966 World Cup and to France at the 2006 tournament in Germany. They were hot favourites to defeat Greece in the final of the 2004 Euro in Lisbon, but were beaten by a solitary Angelos Charisteas goal.

Answer: Spain

Spain had won the European Championship in 1964, but for much of the next 40 or so years had flattered to deceive. That all changed at Euro '08 when they defeated Germany in the final. A first-ever World title followed with victory over The Netherlands in 2010, and their European crown was successfully defended in 2012 when Italy were thrashed 4-0 in the final.

Answer: Costa Rica

The Costa Ricans qualified for their first World Cup in 1990, and made it out of a group containing Brazil, Scotland and Sweden. They couldn't maintain that form in the round of 16, crashing out 1-4 to Czechoslovakia.
