K.F.G. Scotland started his career against France in 1957 and played in 27 test matches,he was captain in 4 appearances in 1963. He scored 71 points in total. Not only was he a good kicker but he was brilliant at coming into the backline to set up overlaps. He also toured with the Lions, scoring 10 tries. His last test was against France in 1965.

A splendid performance from Scotland, the All Blacks went on to beat Wales, Ireland, England and France. Played in bad conditions at Murrayfield, Scotland actually had more chances to score than New Zealand, but could not complete them.

Andy Irvine was one of the great running fullbacks of the modern era, he scored over 300 points in internationals, 10 tries for Scotland and one for the Lions. He attended George Heriots School in Edinburgh and was the eighth fullback from that school to represent Scotland.

In February 1980 against France, after a poor kicking display (missing 6 penalties and a conversion), and France leading 14-4 with 12 minutes to go, he turned the game on its head with two dazzling tries and two penalties to win the game 22-14.

When he retired in 1982, he held the record for most points in test rugby.
