Answer: Chicago Cubs

The Cubs went an amazing 116-36 in the 1906 season. However, they would go on to lose the World Series to the White Sox, four games to two. The Mariners in 2001 also won 116 games, but in a 162-game season. The highest win count by the Yankees in the 20th century was 114 in 1998.
2. Of these four golfing greats, who was the only one to never miss a cut at the U.S. Masters Golf Tournament that they entered in the 20th century?

Answer: Fred Couples

Couples first competed in the U.S. Masters in 1984. In 2011, he competed in his 27th consecutive Masters at Augusta, Georgia. He won the 1992 tournament by two strokes over Raymond Floyd. Fred's first-ever PGA Tour win was at the Kemper Open in 1983.
3. Just because a quarterback gets sacked many times in a season, does not mean that he is not an effective quarterback. Who was the first bruised NFL quarterback to be sacked 50 times in one season?

Answer: Greg Landry

Landry of the Detroit Lions was sacked 55 times in 1976. In Greg's 11 seasons as a Lion, he was sacked an amazing 261 times. What a bruising he took in Detroit, but the Lions created a reputation for not having an offensive line who could protect the one who took their snaps. In 1985, Lion QB Eric Hipple was sacked 49 times. In 2006, Jon Kitna took 63 sacks in 2006, then another 51 in 2007.
4. In the table game of pool, what color is the number four ball?

Answer: Purple

In a game of pool, the numbers 1-8 are solid colors, while the striped balls are from 9-15. The first 'set' from 1-7 are 1-yellow, 2-blue, 3-red, 4-purple, 5-orange, 6-green, 7-brown/burgundy, and the 8-ball is black. The numbers repeat themselves with the striped balls with the 9-ball yellow, 10-blue, 11-red, 12-purple, 13-orange, 14-green, and 15-brown/burgundy. The cue ball is the only fully white ball on the table.
5. Which NCAA basketball Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) team played their home games in an arena renamed the 'Coach K Center'?

Answer: Duke Blue Devils

The Duke Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski, nicknamed "Coach K", was the head men's basketball coach at Duke University. The arena was officially named, "Michael W. Krzyzewski Center". Krzyzewski became the sixth men's basketball coach in NCAA history to reach the 800 wins in his career. He was awarded the Coach of the Year Award more than five times in his career also. Mike was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
6. I played Major League Baseball for 23 seasons. In 13 of those seasons I was in the top 10 for the MVP voting and took one MVP Award. I never hit 50 home runs in a season, but hit over 600 in my career. Who am I?

Answer: Hank Aaron

In a show of consistent force in 'old-time' baseball, Hank hit 40+ plus home runs eight times, and never more than 47 in a season. Amazingly, he won only one MVP Award and was never a runner-up. His MVP came in 1957 over Stan Musial and Red Schoendienst, both of the Cardinals in the season that took the Braves franchise to their second World Series title.

Although Hank batted .393 and hit three home runs in the series, Braves pitcher Lew Burdette won the series MVP for his three wins. Aaron hit 755 career home runs, retiring in 1976.
7. The four grand slams of tennis are the Australian Open, U.S. Open, Wimbledon, and which other?

Answer: French Open

The French Open tennis tournament began in 1891. In 1928, it began being played outdoors on a red clay court. The first player from the USA to win it was Don Budge who defeated Roderich Menzel of Czechoslavakia in 1938. The first USA player to win consecutive French Open's was Jim Courier in 1991 and 1992.
8. While you're playing golf, you score a two on a par-5 hole. What term is used for your score?

Answer: Albatross

The albatross is also termed as a double-eagle. A birdie is when you shoot one under par. An eagle is when you shoot two under par. An albatross is used when you shoot three under par. A condor is when you shoot four under par, also known as something isn't right to other competitors.
9. Which National Football League team ended their 2008 season with a 0-16 record, the first winless season since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1976 who went 0-14?

Answer: Detroit Lions

Their biggest loss was a home game in week 13 against the Titans, 47-10. Detroit went through five quarterbacks in the season and threw a total of 18 touchdowns, compared to Drew Brees and Philip Rivers who threw 34 each for their teams.
10. I was born in 1972, the fourth of six children. I married baseball player Nomar Garciaparra. I played women's soccer in the WUSA for the Washington Freedom. I broke the international goal record of 107 in 1999. Who am I?
