Tracy Porter was the defensive back who made the decisive play of the game, stepping in front of a Colts receiver to intercept a Peyton Manning pass and then returning it 74 yards for a touchdown. Sean Payton was the Saints coach whose gamble in starting the second half with an onside kick paid off. Garrett Hartley was the place kicker who kicked three field goals of longer than 40 yards, the first time in Super Bowl history this had been accomplished.

The U.S. won the medal count with 37 total medals, to 30 for Germany, 26 for Canada, and 23 for Norway. The other three choices are the venues of the three immediately prior Winter Olympics.

North Carolina had a disappointing season and its omission was no surprise. North Carolina went instead to the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) and lost in the finals to the Dayton Flyers. The other choices are three of the four number one NCAA seeds (Kansas was the fourth and the overall number one seed).

Answer: Duke

The wrong choices are the other three teams which made the Final Four, played in Indianapolis in early April. Duke beat Butler in an exciting final, giving coach Mike Krzyzewski his fourth national championship, which tied him with the legendary Adolph Rupp for the second-most titles ever, behind only UCLA's John Wooden who won ten.

This was quite an emotional win for Mickelson, as his wife and mother had been battling breast cancer during the prior year. This tournament marked the return of Tiger Woods to competitive golf, after a five-month layoff, and Tiger finished tied for fourth. Fifty-year-old Fred Couples made history when he became the oldest person ever to lead the Masters at the end of a round, after his first-round score of 66 led the field. Couples then finished a very respectable sixth. Sixty-year-old Tom Watson also started strong with a first-round 67, but faded after that and finished tied for eighteenth.

Answer: Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Prior to his retirement in early 2009, Mayweather had been rated by "The Ring" magazine as the number-one pound for pound boxer in the world. He showed he still had his skills when he decisively beat Shane Mosley in a 12-round unanimous decision.

Illustrating the fractured nature of professional boxing championships, Manny Pacquiao was still recognized as the welterweight champ by the World Boxing Organization, Dejan Zavec continued to be recognized as champ by the International Boxing Federation, and Andre Berto was champ according to the World Boxing Council.

For only the fifth time since the league's beginning in 1992, the race went down to the final day. After the 38th and last game was played on Sunday, May 9th, Chelsea had won their third Premier League title. This compares to eleven championships for Manchester United, three for Arsenal, and one for Blackburn Rovers.

Portsmouth had come on hard financial times during the season, and was relegated from the FA Premier League to the Football League Championship for the 2010-11 season. Given that, and being placed into adminstration as well, their performances in getting to the final of the FA Cup was noteworthy.

Chelsea's win, together with their Premier League championship from the week before, gave them a "double", the first time this had been accomplished in England since Arsenal did it in 2002.

The Celtics used a defense designed to stop James from driving to the basket, and his teammates were unable to pick up the slack. The Celtics won the round in six games, ending the Cavaliers' season on a very sour note.
