Answer: Cronulla Sharks

Cronulla's Paul Gallen was chosen at lock for the first game, but he withdrew from the game due to injury. This left Cronulla as the only team not represented in the first game. Gallen was replaced by the Titans Anthony Laffranchi.
2. Why was Jarryd Hayne's first try in game one disallowed?

Answer: His foot touched the sideline

Jarryd Hayne made a break from his own side of halfway down the sideline, and in the process his heel appeared to touch the sideline. After a long video referee deliberation, the try was controversially disallowed.

This result meant Queensland would make history by being the first team to win the series four times in a row after winning game one 28-18. Game three was won by New South Wales 28-16.

Game one saw the debut of seven players. Canberra's Terry Campese at Five Eighth, The Wests Tigers Robbie Farah at Hooker, St George's Ben Creagh in the Second Row, Justin Poore and Michael Weyman on the interchange bench. Penrith's Michael Jennings at Centre and Newcastle's James McManus on the Wing. Game two saw the debut of 3 players. Manly's David Williams on the wing.

He replaced James McManus who was injured. His Manly teammate Glenn Stewart made his debut as one of the interchange players. Stewart was chosen for game one but was unable to play due to suspension.

The Bulldogs' Josh Morris was also named as an interchange player for game two. In game three, the Bulldogs' Michael Ennis was named as Hooker to replace Robbie Farah who was dropped. Canberra's Tom Learoyd-Lars made his debut as an interchange player.

New South Wales Trent Waterhouse was sent off in the 77th minute of the game after trying to break up a fight between his teammate Brett White and Queensland's Steven Price that left Price unconscious. Queensland were awarded the penalty and kicked the ball straight to Kurt Gidley who was swamped in the tackle.

Another fight erupted, and this time New South Wales Ben Creagh and Queensland's Sam Thaiday were sin binned. This left 23 players on the field at the conclusion of play.
10. What was so unusal about the try that New South Wales winger David Williams scored in game three?

Answer: First time in Origin history that an 8-point try was awarded

Queensland halfback Johnathan Thurston was penalised for kicking New South Wales winger David Williams in the face as he was trying to ground the ball for a try. The referees did not take nicely to that and awarded New South Wales an eight-point try.

This meant that Kurt Gidley had two attempts at goal, one from where the ball was grounded and one in front of the goal posts. Both kicks were converted.
