2.05: "The Exterminator" Trivia Quiz

Because the gang is driving past the homes of famous movie stars and the gang mentions that all the famous stars had to start making money somewhere, Scooby pretends to be a gas station attendant in hope of being "discovered."

Don then enlists the help of the gang to help exterminate the house of famous horror movie star Lorne Chumley, an offer which they accept.

Answer: Lorne's butler

Lorne Chumley's butler warns them away, telling the gang there are many strange beings lurking in the house.

Answer: Breaks his watch

The person reaches out of the painting with a hammer and smashes Don's watch in the dark, although Don thinks a bug disintegrated it.

Answer: Frankenstein monster and ghoul

The Frankenstein monster grabs a hold of Scooby's equipment, while a ghoul grabs a hold of Shaggy's equipment. They never get their equipment back for the rest of the episode.

Answer: A monster bird grabs the coin in midair and puts it in its piggy bank

The monster bird is a statue, one of the few monsters in this episode that was not in a painting.

Answer: A ghostly old man in a painting

The painting asks the butler as he is walking by "Well, is it working?" to which the butler responds that it is working, and that the kids should be out of the house in a few more scares. This was a common theme for the series; the culprit was usually extremely easy to guess because the viewer would often hear the culprit talking about their evil plans, revealing that they were behind the mask (while the gang was not on-screen at the time).

Answer: A pair of hairy arms

The other mysterious exterminator does distract the gang while the arms steal their equipment, but the exterminator does not actually steal the equipment making that answer false. The ghoul and the Frankenstein monster are never seen by anyone besides Shaggy and Scooby, so those answers are not correct either.

Neither the gang nor the viewer ever sees where the moaning is coming from.

Answer: "...in another house!"

Scooby does not have his normal speech impediment (where he turns the beginnings of most words into an "R" sound) in this particular quote, which is quite unusual.

The sea monster has the exact same design of the sea monster in "The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair," except that this monster is purple and yellow instead of green.

Shaggy, Scooby and Daphne vote that the house is hauntedFred, Velma and Don vote that the house is not haunted, and Fred, Velma and Don vote that the house is not haunted, making the vote 3-3. However, a hairy hand also votes that the house is haunted, making the vote 4-3.

The sight of the invisible couple (only their clothes can be seen) causes Shaggy to pass out.

Answer: shave

This quote is said when a werewolf mask falls onto Don's head. The werewolf mask strongly resembles the one in "A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts" that Big Bob Oakley wore, the only difference being the mask is brown instead of purple.

Answer: Lorne Chumley and his butler

The bank is about to foreclose on Lorne's house because he hasn't been keeping up with his mortgage payments. The bank had Don do one last mandatory extermination before the house could be sold, and Lorne hoped by scaring Don and the gang away that the bank couldn't sell the house because the extermination wouldn't be done. For the first time in the "Scooby-Doo" franchise, the masked culprit is not charged with any crime and is not taken to jail due to no illegal act being committed. In the end, the gang helps Lorne get back on his feet by doing a movie with him.

In addition, Lorne (dressed up in his cat creature disguise) would later be the only villain from this series to appear in the "Scooby-Doo! Behind the Scenes" shorts 25 years later, which aired exclusively on Cartoon Network as a set of eight shorts promoting a "Scooby-Doo" Halloween marathon.
