When Rebecca got onto him about being seven minutes late he said that he was seven minutes late for a date and had to make up for it. He told her that you could never catch up.

The contest all started when Cliff claimed he could grow the best beard in the bar after the others teased him about not having any facial hair. Sam, Norm, and Frasier all took him up on the bet. Carla was the judge, assisted by Rebecca.

"Our Town" was a play by Thornton Wilder. It takes place in Grover's Corners between 1901 and 1913. Woody played the part of George Gibbs.

At this point Cliff had very little facial hair grown so Norm was teasing him about it. Rebecca came in shortly after and yelled "Wolfman! I love that gag!".

That's right, it was a pre-"Friends" Lisa Kudrow. In this episode of "Cheers" she had dark hair, not the blonde hair we know from "Friends". Lisa Kudrow was born July 30, 1963.

Every time he would tell Emily "I love you", it sounded almost robotic in delivery. She kept working with him on it all the time but he just couldn't tell some woman he loved her that wasn't his girlfriend Kelly.

Woody said that "Our Town" had a lot of things like kissing and homework. He said that Kelly was too naive to understand these things. When Kelly found him kissing Emily she said, "You're in a play and you didn't even tell me". Woody responded, "Maybe I was just cheating on you". Woody later told Kelly, "I love you". Emily asked why he couldn't say it like that to her.

He said, "I don't love you, I love Kelly". Eventually, Emily informed him that the director said either Woody had to get past this problem, or he'd be replaced. Woody suddenly said, "I love you" to Emily with no problem.

He then stated, "So that's the secret to acting...fear."

This is, of course, an incongruity to the show "Frasier" where Martin Crane is a retired police officer. According to Frasier, both of his parents were scientists. He also, in another episode stated that both of them were dead, which is also an incongruity with "Frasier".

Everyone was surprised by the results but Rebecca said that he passed all the tests. Cliff used some product that made hair grow that was not supposed to be used on the human body. He called the company to find out what to do, and they must have said surgery because he said, "Now, can they do that on an out-patient basis?"
