Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When Jack got home, he told Janet and Terri he was going to be on a TV show. What was the name of the show?

Answer: L.A. Today

He told them that Mike O'Connell, who was the host of the show, was at Angelino's restaurant an invited Jack to appear for a cooking demonstration. Mr. Furley was upset that Jack interrupted the story about his cold to the girls.
2. Mr. Furley said that Jack should have a classy assistant to catch the audience's attention. Which characteristic did he not say the assistant should have?

Answer: Sense of humor

Naturally Mr. Furley was talking about Jack picking him. Jack said it was a great idea and asked Janet and Terri to be his assistants for the show. Mr. Furley was upset about Jack's choice.
3. Jack told the girls that he would demonstrate how he would introduce them. He told them to go to their rooms. When Jack introduced them, he said that Janet was from Speedway, Indiana and Terri was from Longmeadow, Massachusetts.

Answer: True

Speedway, Indiana is in Marion County, west of Indianapolis. Longmeadow, Massachusetts is south of Springfield. The 2000 census listed both of them with fewer than 15,000 residents.
4. Whose idea was it to have Jack place notes where he could see them, while he was on the TV show?

Answer: Larry

Larry threw out Jack's script when they were rehearsing at the apartment. Jack had a hard time remembering what he was going so say. When Larry told him about the notes, Jack asked if that would work. Larry told him that was how he made it through high school.
5. When Jack asked Mr. Angelino if he had any last minute advice prior to the show, what was his response?

Answer: Don't screw up.

When Mike O'Connell asked Mr. Angelino how to have a successful restaurant, Mr. Angelino said they needed him. When asked the second time, he said that you had to have a great chef. He then said that his chef was Jack Tripper and he found him and taught him all he knew.
6. According to Jack, the ingredients for his aspic had all but which of the following ingredients?

Answer: Tomato juice

Jack was describing how to make the aspic and the notes were stuck to Janet's rear end. He was following her around the kitchen on the show bent over while reading the notes. The kitchen scene was one of the funniest scenes on this show in my opinion.
7. Jack got fired from Mr. Angelino's restaurant because of what he had done on the show. Jack was the one that said he was fired.

Answer: True

Mr. Angelino was screaming at Jack and stated "...and as for you, Tripper..." Jack then said that he was fired. Mr. Angelino then said that at least Jack got something right that day.
8. When Larry went to the trio's apartment, he told Jack that he was surprised that he was there. He said that if it were he that was embarrassed like Jack was he would have left town. Where did Larry say he would have gone?

Answer: Tahiti

Larry then told Jack that the entire gang down at the Regal Beagle saw the show that day. Earlier Janet and Terri told Jack that nobody watched that show anyway.
9. Who called Jack to laugh at him because of the show?

Answer: His mother

Jack answered the phone; all you could hear on the other line was a woman laughing very hard and loud. Jack kept saying mom but she just laughed.
10. Jack went back to Angelino's restaurant to clean out his locker. Mr. Angelino told Jack that people make mistakes and that he might be doing just that, he then offered Jack his job back. What were the original conditions for Jack to accept his job back as the chef at Angelino's restaurant?

Answer: $25 pay cut

Jack started to go to the kitchen but Mr. Angelino stopped him and told him to use the service entrance. Jack said it was quicker to go through the dining section. When he entered the dining area, most of the patrons applauded him; one woman even said that she traveled from Encino hoping that she would see him. Jack then told Angelino that he wanted a $25 raise and every other weekend off. Mr. Angelino told him he would not do that. Jack then went back into dining area and said that he was not working there and Mr. Angelino agreed to let Jack work with the raise and every other weekend off.
