Question 1 of 10
1. Every character in "Beast Wars" had at least two modes (they were transformers, after all). Most characters had a unique transformation sequence, but not all. If two characters shared a similar beast mode, then their transformation sequence would often also be similar. Which two characters had similar transformation sequences? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. In "Beast Wars", there were some relics of alien origin. Were the Alien Disc and the Golden Disc the same artifact?

Question 3 of 10
3. "Beats Wars" mostly told the tale of a conflict between Maximals and Predacons. Usually, if a member from one faction saw someone from another, a fight would ensue. However, on occasion, transformers from opposite sides would come together, and sometimes they would even switch allegiances. Which Maximal never once became a Predacon, even temporarily? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. At the beginning of Season 2, the transformers on the strange planet were subjected to a transwarp energy wave. The wave had no effect on some transformers, but others were given completely new bodies. Which character gained a Transmetal body? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. In Season 1, flight was a premium ability that influenced many of the decisions made by both Maximals and Predacons. At the beginning of Season 2, though, many characters gained Transmetal forms, and acquired new abilities. Which two characters gained the ability to fly? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. Also introduced in Season 2 were two new transformers known as Fuzors. Fuzors had beast modes comprised of parts from multiple animals, making them closer to creatures from myths than real animals. What were the names of the two Fuzors? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. Megatron was the leader of the Predacons on the planet, when not in the middle of being usurped by one of his soldiers. Megatron was not the leader of all the Predacons, though. Back on Cybertron, the Predacons were ruled by the three members of the Tripredacus Council. Megatron and the Council did not agree on a few things, which made Megatron go rogue. Who was the mole in the Predacon team, spying on Megatron for the Tripredacus Council? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. The Beast Wars started with the Maximals in their ship, the Axalon, chasing the Predacons aboard the Darksyde. The two ships had an impressive battle above an unknown world. When both ships started to fall to the planet below, Optimus ordered that all the stasis pods be ejected into orbit. This let the creators of "Beast Wars" introduce new characters one at a time, in the form of stasis pods. However, not every new face arrived by falling from orbit. Which character landed on the strange planet in their own ship? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. At the beginning of Season 2, the Transwarp wave modified some characters, giving them Transmetal forms. In Season 3, a device called the Transwarp Driver gave some characters Transmetal II forms. Which character was the only one to have an original form, a Transmetal form, and a Transmetal II form? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. "Beast Wars" started with ten characters; four for the Maximals, and six for the Predacons (though Dinobot quickly switched sides to even out the teams). Over the 52-episode series, characters were introduced, characters left, and some changed drastically from where they started. Some got new bodies (some got two), and some characters perished in the conflict. Of the ten original characters, which one managed to survive to the end of the Beast Wars without ever changing bodies? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Every character in "Beast Wars" had at least two modes (they were transformers, after all). Most characters had a unique transformation sequence, but not all. If two characters shared a similar beast mode, then their transformation sequence would often also be similar. Which two characters had similar transformation sequences?

Answer: Blackarachnia and Tarantulas

When the show began, there were ten characters, each with a unique transformation sequence. The whole show was, remember, to show off the toys and to get children (or their parents) to buy them.

The first two new characters to be added to the show were near-clones of existing characters. Tigatron had the shame shapes and transformation sequence as Cheetor (both large cats), and Blackarachnia was nearly identical to Tarantulas (both being spiders). This made it easier for the animators to create the new characters, not requiring as many new, unique models. This was also a bonus for the toy manufacturers, who could just use the moulds they already had.
2. In "Beast Wars", there were some relics of alien origin. Were the Alien Disc and the Golden Disc the same artifact?

Answer: No

The Beast Wars started when the Predacons stole an ancient artifact called the Golden Disc. The Golden Disc was actually the Voyager Golden Record. It apparently told the location of a planet rich in Energon, a useful energy resource important to transformers. The Predacons found the planet (Earth), but accidentally travelled through time during the trip, and ended up in prehistoric times. Once the transformers realised they were on Earth, they also realised that the disc could tell the future. Megatron (the first one) had recorded a secret message onto the disc.

The Alien Disc was a separate object. It was covered in the strange symbols found on the abandoned alien structures around the planet. Inferno found it on Earth near the end of Season 1. The Alien Disc could grant control over some of the other alien artifacts left behind. The Alien Disc and the Golden Disc were both discs, and roughly the same size. They just had different symbols on them.

Answer: Cheetor

Cheetor was one of the few transformers from the beginning of the series who never switched sides. Optimus Primal was another.

Dinobot started the series as a Predacon, but was removed when he challenged Megatron for leadership. He tried to then lead the Maximals. Optimus Primal wasn't having any of that, but decided to let him stay. Dinobot did jump back to the Predacons for a brief stint in "Maximal, No More" (Episode 31 or 205).

Rattrap was suspected as being a spy for the Predacons in "Double Jeopardy" (Episode 8 or 108). He was sent on a reconnaissance mission alone, deep into Predacon territory. He was beaten by Terrorsaur, but promised to jump sides and serve Terrorsaur personally in exchange for his life. Despite officially being a Predacon, Rattrap was still working for the Maximals as a spy.

Rhinox was captured and forcibly turned into a Predacon in "Dark Designs" (Episode 13 or 113). Megatron wanted the smartest Maximal to fight for him, rather than against, and had Tarantulas create a device to do it. As a Predacon, Rhinox was not his peaceful, scientific self. He became ruthless and manipulative, just like the rest of the Predacons, and started causing havoc from inside. Megatron finally had enough of the new Rhinox, and undid the Predacon programming.
4. At the beginning of Season 2, the transformers on the strange planet were subjected to a transwarp energy wave. The wave had no effect on some transformers, but others were given completely new bodies. Which character gained a Transmetal body?

Answer: Rattrap

A new season needed new toys, but the writers couldn't just introduce a bunch of new characters. So existing characters were given new bodies, making more toys, and letting the manufacturers retire some of the older moulds.

The explosion at the end of Season 1 reached Earth at the beginning of Season 2, and had some alarming effects on the characters. Only the original ten characters could be affected. Any characters from stasis pods, who were "born" on Earth (Tigatron, Blackarachnia, Airazor, and Inferno) did not experience any change (keeping the newer toys around longer).
5. In Season 1, flight was a premium ability that influenced many of the decisions made by both Maximals and Predacons. At the beginning of Season 2, though, many characters gained Transmetal forms, and acquired new abilities. Which two characters gained the ability to fly?

Answer: Cheetor and Megatron

When the Transwarp wave hit, and created the new Transmetal bodies for some characters, only the original ten could be affected. Except not all of them, even had the chance. Any character that was healing in a CR Chamber (Dinobot, Rhinox, and Waspinator) was shielded from the wave.

Scorponok and Terrorsaur were in the process of becoming Transmetal, but fell into the lava in the Prdacon base, and perished. This left only Megatron and Tarantulas of the Predacons who became Transmetal.

Optimus Primal had just died in the explosion (he got better), leaving only Cheetor and Rattrap with new Transmetal bodies.

Cheetor and Megatron both gained flight modes as their new "third form". Rattrap and Tarantulas both acquired wheeled modes for quick transportation.
6. Also introduced in Season 2 were two new transformers known as Fuzors. Fuzors had beast modes comprised of parts from multiple animals, making them closer to creatures from myths than real animals. What were the names of the two Fuzors?

Answer: Quickstrike and Silverbolt

The Transwarp explosion at the beginning of Season 2 knocked all the remaining stasis pods out of orbit. Many were destroyed, and some managed to land, damaged.

Two pods produced Quickstrike and Silverbolt. Their beast mode scanners were damaged, so they ended up having two animals meshed together for their alternate forms. Quickstrike was a scorpion with a snake head on his tail. Silverbolt was a dog with eagle wings and talons.

The crash also damaged their logic circuits and security. They had no idea who or what they were. This let Megatron easily step in and remotely reprogram them as Predacons. Quickstrike took to the Predacon lifestyle, but Silverbolt wasn't comfortable, and quickly switched back to the Maximals.

Answer: Tarantulas

Tarantulas was always a loner, and maintained a secret lair. He knew more about the planet and the schemes of the aliens than anyone else, but did not let on. Megatron assumed Tarantuals was merely being deceitful the same way all the Predacons were.

The Predacons and the Maximals back on Cybertron were technically at peace (though there was still animosity). When Megatron stole the Golden Disc and attacked the Maximals, the rest of the Predacons distanced themselves from him. Tarantuals was the agent in Megatron's crew who was responsible for sabotaging Megatron's plans (though he had no love for the Maximals, either). The Tripredacus Council later sent one of their best agents, Ravage, to help the Maximals stop Megatron (though that plan backfired).

Answer: Depthcharge

The Maximal ship, the Axalon, had a dark secret. The old Decepticon Starcream had a mutant, indestructible spark. Maximal scientists tried to recreate the mutation. The result was a crazed transformer that was nearly impossible to destroy. It went on a rampage and murdered many innocent transformers before the Maximals caught and restrained it. It was loaded into a particularly large stasis pod, and marked with a giant X. When it fell from orbit, it was released once again.

Depth Charge was a security officer for a small colony, and ended up being the only survivor when Protoform X attacked it. Depthcharge wanted X to be executed, but X was loaded onto the Axalon instead, to be dumped on a barren moon. Before he could be removed, though, the Axalon had to pursue the Predacons that were escaping with the Golden Disc.

Depthcharge tracked Protoform X's signal on his own, hoping to do what the Maximal Elders were unwilling to, and avenge his colony.

The Predacon Ravage also arrived on his own ship, at the end of Season 2. He did not last long, though.
9. At the beginning of Season 2, the Transwarp wave modified some characters, giving them Transmetal forms. In Season 3, a device called the Transwarp Driver gave some characters Transmetal II forms. Which character was the only one to have an original form, a Transmetal form, and a Transmetal II form?

Answer: Cheetor

Cheetor was the only transformer to have a regular, a Transmetal, and a Transmetal II form. When he got his Transmetal II body, he lost the ability to fly, but became even faster, with jet-assisted running.

"Someone's out on a midnight stroll... at Mach two." - Megatron

Rattrap and Tarantuals both only got Transmetal bodies. In Season 3, Megatron created the Transmetal Driver. He used a shard of Dinobot's spark to create Dinobot II, who was also a Transmetal II. Cheetor interrupted the experiment, and was affected by the Transmetal Driver also. Blackarachnia, ever looking to improve her personal power, stole the Driver, and made herself Transmetal II (though it nearly cost her her life).

Optimus and Megatron also had three different bodies throughout the show, but their final forms came from housing the sparks of their namesakes, the original Optimus Prime and Megatron.

Answer: Rhinox

Of the ten original characters from the first episode, only two survived to the end, without changing bodies: Rhinox and Waspinator.

Optimus Primal, Megatron, and Cheetor had three bodies throughout the show. Rattrap, and Tarantulas both got Transmetal forms. Scorponok and Terrorsaur both died at the beginning of Season 2. And Dinobot died/was reborn as a Transmetal II.

During Season 3, we never saw Rhinox in his beast mode. He did not fight much, or leave the base. He mostly kept an eye on things, and focused his attention on not altering the time stream. Waspinator did still fight to the end, and was abused all the way. Finally, in the last moments of the Beast Wars, Waspinator stood up for himself and quit the Predacons. He was the only character to be left on Earth, where he ruled over the protohumans.
