'Bosom Buddies': The Series Trivia Quiz

In the pilot episode, best friends Henry Desmond and Kip Wilson, must find new housing after the apartment complex that they were living in was destroyed by a wrecking ball. Henry and Kip work for an advertising agency where Henry's friend, Amy, works. Amy tells the guys that the apartment complex she lives in is inexpensive and has a room available.

The guys seem all gung-ho for the idea until Amy tells them that the place only houses women. Henry and Kip put their heads together and decide to disguise themselves by dressing like women. Little did Henry know that Amy secretly has a crush on him.

This is the start of Amy chasing Henry!

Answer: Peter Scolari

Peter Scolari portrayed both Henry Desmond and Hildegarde. Scolari also appeared in the hit series 'Newhart'. He is a great actor and a funny guy.

Answer: Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks portrayed both Kip Wilson and Buffy. He has appeared in such movies as 'Big', 'Splash', 'Bachelor Party', 'Saving Private Ryan', 'Forrest Gump' and 'Philadelphia'. He is a terrific actor and does remarkable at any role he chooses to play. 'Bosom Buddies' was the show that kicked him to stardom!

Answer: Livingston, Gentry, and Mishkin Advertising Agency

The guys worked for the Livingston, Gentry, and Mishkin Advertising Agency. They designed and created advertisements for companies all over the country. Ruth Dunbar was their boss, and boy was she tough. Ruth always told Henry and Kip that they were no good at advertising, but in the end they always came up with great ideas.

The McMahon and Tate Advertising Agency is where Darren from 'Bewitched' worked, his boss was Larry Tate.

Answer: Sonny and Isabella

'Buffy' and 'Hildey' are invited to a singles bar by Sonny and Isabella. Once they all arrive at the bar, it is apparent to Buffy and Hildey, that they are being ignored, because they are not pretty. Buffy doesn't care, as 'she' is too busy keeping an eye on Sonny. Hildey, however, comes to grips with that fact that his friend Amy likes him as Henry, and realizes that she has a crush on him.

The next day, Henry asks Amy out on a date, more or less to ease his own conscience. While Henry and Amy are out on their date, a guy hits on Amy and Henry becomes jealous. Amy gets mad at Henry and tells him he only went out with her because he felt sorry for himself.

Henry realizes that she is right. The moral of the story is don't lead someone on if the feelings are not there.

At the end of the show, Amy and Henry still remain friends!

Answer: Candy Stripers

This is one of the funniest episodes. Sonny gets Buffy and Hildey to work in the hospital as candy stripers. The main reason Buffy does it is to get close to Sonny. One of Sonny's patients is a man named Jim, who is blind. Although he maybe blind, he is well aware of the fact that Buffy and Hildey are men disguised as women.

He also likes Sonny very much and lets Buffy (Kip) know it. In the end, Jim promises to keep the boy's secret, with the comment that he wishes he would have thought of something like dressing as woman to get close to a woman.

This is the episode when Sonny realizes how much she cares for Kip!

Answer: 60 Seconds Street

Since Kip and Henry having been working for Ruth Dunbar for many years, they decide to open up their own advertising agency. It seems that Henry's uncle passed away and left him his old studio-agency. Kip and Henry find out the hard way that Henry's uncle owed money to a loan shark.

The loan shark threatens the guys and they must produce some cash or lose the business. In the end Kip and Henry come up with the cash, thanks to their old boss Ruth. It seems she misses Kip and Henry and realizes that she needs them and they need her. Kip, Henry, and Ruth join forces and have a fantastic business.

They name the new agency '60 Seconds Street'. It is a huge success, and the old gang is back together.

Answer: Vickie

This is another of my favorite episodes. Kip is upset when he catches his sister, Vickie, kissing Henry. He moves in with Sonny and Isabella for a day or two. Henry really likes Vickie, but it is Vickie that realizes that she really doesn't like Henry as much as she thought. What she liked was the chase, and the fact that Kip told her to stay away from Henry.

Henry finds out that she only kissed him to spite her brother, and apologizes to Kip. By the end of the show the guys are best friends yet again.

Answer: Bob Saget

Bob Saget played the part of 'Bob The Comic'. As the character 'Bob' he was so jealous of Isabella, that when she appeared in her own night club act, courtesy of Kip and Henry, 'Bob The Comic' tried to destroy the entire act. At the end of the show, things worked themselves out and Isabella gave 'Bob The Comic' a job working with her. Bob Saget portrayed the character of Danny Tanner on the hit series 'Full House'.

Answer: Donna Dixon

Donna Dixon played the character of Sonny Lumet in the series. She did an excellent job with her character. Donna Dixon is a well versed actress who has had roles in television and movies. Dixon appeared in 'Moonlighting', 'Blonde on Blonde', 'Who's the Boss?', 'Charmed Lives', 'The Twilight Zone', and 'Twilight Zone: The Movie'.

Answer: Wendie Jo Sperber

Sperber has starred in some of the following television series: 'Hearts Afire', 'Mavis Davis', 'Babes', 'Women in Prison', and 'Private Benjamin'. Wendie Jo also had bit parts in some of the following: 'Home Improvement', 'Parker Lewis Can't Lose', and 'A Method To Her Madness'. Sperber is most memorable as her portrayal of Amy Cassidy on 'Bosom Buddies'.

Answer: Joe Mantegna

Joe Mantegna is most noted for his great voice-overs. You will recognize his voice from the hit series 'The Simpsons', where he did the voice of 'Fat Tony'. The other actors that I have listed played in the same episode of 'Bosom Buddies' as Mantegna. Roger Til played the part of Maurice, Shane McCamey played the part of Croupier, and Arnold F. Turner played the part of Doug.

'Bosom Buddies' ran for two seasons, from November 27, 1980 until June 1982. There were a total of 38 episodes. Ironically after Tom Hanks starred in 'Splash' and 'Bachelor Party', the network decided to air 8 episodes of 'Bosom Buddies', which the network hand picked from the show's two seasons.

This is a classic series, and one of the funniest. It is a shame that all good things must come to an end.

Holland Taylor did an excellent job portraying Ruth Dunbar, Kip and Henry's boss. Ruth was always trying to steal their ideas for campaigns. Taylor is a terrific actress, she has appeared in numerous television shows and movies: 'How To Make An American Quilt', 'Betrayal Of Trust', 'To Die For', 'Legally Blonde', and she is the voice of Cinderella's evil step-sister, Prudence, in Dinsey's new movie 'Cinderella II: Dreams Really Do Come True'.

Answer: 'That Thing You Do'

Tom Hanks wrote, directed, and starred in 'That Thing You Do', he also wrote some songs for the movie. He asked Scolari to play the part of the television emcee in the movie. Both Hanks and Scolari said they had a ball on the set and enjoyed it so much.

They felt really honored when the entire cast and crew of 'That Thing You Do' burst into 'My Life'. It was a great honor for Hanks and Scolari. All of this information can be found at sitcomsonline.com.
