Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which part of Justin's body was wounded in Iraq?

Answer: knee

Justin had left for Iraq at the end of the first season. In the first episode of season two, "Home Front", Nora was worried sick because she hadn't heard anything from him for weeks. Robert used his influence as a Senator to find out that Justin was okay, but shortly afterwards the family received word that he had been injured and was on his way back to the States.

He was brought back to Nora's house to recover, and in the process became addicted to drugs again because of the painkillers he had to take.
2. Who cheated on their significant other in this season?

Answer: Tommy

Tommy and Julia's marriage was strained due to the death of their infant son at the end of the first season. Julia said outright that she blamed Tommy for his death, and she left to go stay at her parent's house for a few weeks. While she was gone, Tommy slept with Lena, his office manager, several times.

He ended things when his family found out, and when Julia came back, she revealed that she had also cheated. They decided to stay together and make things work.
3. When Nora was talking with Kitty on the phone about the possibility that Kitty was pregnant, what did Nora do that immediately tipped off Justin that it was a serious conversation?

Answer: Went into the pantry

In the episode "Domestic Issues", Kitty became ill and had an aversion to seafood. Nora told her that those were the same symptoms she'd experienced when she was pregnant and told Kitty to take a test. Justin overheard them talking on the phone, and heard the word 'pregnant'.

When Nora saw him, she rushed off into the pantry. Apparently that's what Nora does when something important is going down. Justin called the pantry the "smoking gun" and explained to Rebecca other times when Nora rushed into the pantry: when Kevin came out of the closet, when Sarah got engaged and when Kitty said she was a Republican.

It turned out that Kitty was indeed pregnant, but she had a miscarriage a couple episodes later.
4. Which famous actor played Isaac, a political adviser who later dated Nora?

Answer: Danny Glover

Danny Glover played Isaac Marshall, a friend of Kitty's. Robert originally hated Isaac, because Isaac had outed Robert's brother, Jason, during a previous campaign. Robert came to appreciate Isaac, and Isaac stuck around as a campaign adviser for the rest of Robert's presidential run (which would end mid-season). Then Isaac became romantically involved with Nora.
5. Saul admitted that he was gay.

Answer: True

Saul attended a gay party at a friend's house, and Scotty saw him there and told Kevin. Saul denied to Kevin that he was gay, and then later admitted to Nora that he had been in love with a man. He admitted to the whole family at the end of the season that he was a gay man.
6. Why did the McCallister family dislike Kevin?

Answer: He broke up with Jason.

At the beginning of the season, Kevin was dating Robert's brother Jason. Jason was a preacher and he left California to do mission work in Malaysia. Kevin had agreed to wait for him, but soon was reunited with his ex, Scotty. Kevin broke up with Jason over the phone and got back together with Scotty.

At Kitty and Kevin's wedding, Robert's relatives were hostile towards Kevin, angry that he had broken up with Jason while Jason was away doing God's work. Kevin made the right choice though; he and Scotty were 'married' in a civil commitment ceremony in the final episode of the season.
7. What did Nora's date get in trouble for at Kitty and Robert's wedding?

Answer: Smoking pot

In the previous episode, Nora had reunited with her high school boyfriend, Stan (played by Chevy Chase). Stan was a hippie type and the Secret Service caught him smoking pot at the wedding and detained him in a wine cellar. Tommy and Justin were also detained, for fighting, and Kevin for making sarcastic death threats against the Senator.
8. After getting drunk at a gay bar with Kevin, Scotty and their friends, Sarah worked up the courage to do what?

Answer: Sign her divorce papers

Sarah received her finalized divorce papers while she was at the office, but decided she wasn't ready to sign them yet. That night, she went out with Kevin to a gay karaoke night, and they ran into Scotty and his friends there. She drank with the guys, and they all encouraged her to be strong and signed the papers.

She phoned her office, and Graham was still there, so she asked him to bring the papers to her. She signed them right there in the bar.
9. Where was Nora going to move to?

Answer: Washington, D.C.

Nora was going to move, because Isaac wanted to go back to his home in Washington and he asked her to go with him. Nora said yes at first, but she saw how upset all her kids were, she changed her mind. She knew she was right where she belonged.
10. William Walker was Rebecca Harper's biological father.

Answer: False

When Holly's ex-boyfriend David showed up in town, Rebecca started to question whether or not William was truly her father. She scrounged up some of David's hair and had a paternity test done, and found out he was her father. This threw the Walkers into confusion - who was the 'R' that William believed was his child? The secret password that unlocked his bank account in the first season was SKTKJR - the first letter of all his children's names. Kevin remembered that he once heard William talking with a business associate about a woman he knew with a son named Ryan; could Ryan be a Walker?
