Lily was going by the name Chantarelle when she appeared in season two's "Lie To Me". She was one of a group of vampire wannabes who made a deal with Spike that they would give him Buffy if he would turn them. In the episode "Anne" she needs Buffy's help as her boyfriend has disappeared. Lily also appears in a few episodes of "Angel" going by the name of Anne, which she borrowed from Buffy.

In this episode something is killing people in Sunnydale and at first you think it might have been Oz in werewolf form as he had escaped from the library. You later find out that it is a student, Pete, who has been drinking some concoction that turns him into a beast. Pete is killed at the end by Angel.

In this episode Mr. Trick organizes "Slayerfest'98" which was supposed to have Faith and Buffy being hunted, but instead of Faith, Cordelia ends up with Buffy. In this episode we also see The Mayor for the first time.

"Band Candy" sees the return of Ethan Rayne who is working with Mr. Trick. He has infected candy bars that the students are selling so that any adult that eats them revert back to what they were like at 17. Giles and Buffy's mum are two of the people and we see a glance at what Giles was like back in his Ripper days.

In this episode a rogue watcher, Gwendolyn Post, comes to Sunnydale posing as Faith's new watcher. She is actually in search of the "Glove of Mynhegon". Xander catches Angel and Buffy kissing and goes to Faith who wants to kill Angel who has found the glove. Ms Post convinces Faith that Angel and Buffy are working together and the two slayers fight it out.

In this episode Spike returns to Sunnydale and kidnaps Willow and Xander. He wants Willow to do a love spell that will make Drusilla come back to him as she left him for a Chaos demon. Oz and Cordy catch Willow and Xander kissing when they go to rescue them and Cordy ends up in hospital after being impaled on a spike. Everyone breaks up in this episode, Cordy and Xander, Oz and Willow and Angel and Buffy decide they can't see each other anymore as they love each other too much.

Emma Caulfield makes her first appearance as Anya in this episode. She is a vengeance demon who grants Cordelia's wish that "Buffy Summers had never come to Sunnydale". In doing this we find that in the alternative Sunnydale, The Master has risen and Xander and Willow are his best vampires. Most of the main characters die in the alternative Sunnydale, Xander gets staked by Buffy, Willow gets killed by Oz, Cordelia is killed by Xander and Willow, Angel gets dusted and Buffy is killed by The Master. Giles saves the day when he summons Anyanka and destroys her amulet and things revert back to normal.

In this episode The First Evil is haunting Angel by becoming people from his past who he has killed, mostly Miss Calendar. The First is trying to convince Angel to kill Buffy but Angel can't do it so instead goes to kill himself by waiting for the sun to rise. Buffy goes to try and stop him and Angel is saved by the first snow to ever fall on Sunnydale stopping the sun from coming up.

In this episode Joyce joins Buffy on one of her patrols and discovers the bodies of two children. Horrified, Joyce then starts MOO to try and rid Sunnydale of all it's evil. Giles finds out that the children are in fact demons who cause people to hurt each other by believing they are getting rid of evil.

The parents of Sunnydale try to burn Buffy, Willow and Amy. Giles eventually does a spell that shows the demon in it's true form and Buffy manages to kill it. Amy turns herself into a rat in this episode and doesn't get changed back until season six.

In this episode Buffy realizes that she is starting to lose her Slayer powers. Giles has injected her with a serum so that she can take a test set by The Watcher's Council. She has to go against a vicious vampire, Zachary Kralik, and defeat him without her slayer strength. In the end Buffy passes but Giles does not and he is fired as Buffy's watcher for having a father's love for her.

In this episode Xander takes up with a gang of zombies who are going to try and blow up the school and Xander has to stop them. He also sleeps with Faith in this episode. All this is going on while Buffy and the rest of the gang are trying to stop The Hellmouth from opening.

This episode sees the introduction of Buffy and Faith's new watcher, Wesley Wyndham-Pryce. Faith accidentally kills a human, Alan Finch, in this episode but doesn't seem to have any remorse for what she has done. When Buffy goes to see Faith to speak to her about what happened, Faith tells her she "doesn't care".

In this episode Buffy goes to Giles to tell him about the Deputy Mayor's death but Faith has gotten there first and is blaming Buffy. Giles plays along until Faith is gone but then tells Buffy that he knows it wasn't her. Wesley overhears all this and calls the Watchers Council and they send a team to retrieve Faith but she escapes and goes to see The Mayor to offer her services.

In this episode Anya comes back to Sunnydale and asks Willow to help her get back her necklace. Something goes wrong with the spell and Vamp Willow from "The Wish" comes to Sunnydale.

In this episode Faith and The Mayor get a shaman to remove Angel's soul. Angel and Faith then kidnap Buffy and chain her up in the mansion where Faith brags about the Mayor's Ascension. Once Buffy hears what she needs to, her and Angel reveal that it was a set up to find out if Faith really was bad and when the Ascension was.

It turned out that the Shaman owed Giles a favour and so put on a great light show in the pretense of removing Angel's soul.

In this episode Buffy comes into contact with a demon's blood and inherits the ability to read everyone's mind. At first she thinks it's great but then as she can hear everyone the voices all start to blend in her head and she can't make one from the other.

She does hear someone planning to kill everyone in the school. The voices will eventually make her go insane. Angel finds the cure and Buffy has to try and find out who the killer is. She thinks it's Jonathan but he is actually planning to kill himself and Xander discovers that it is actually the dinner lady who has put rat poison in the school food.

The Mayor mentions this when he is speaking to Buffy and Angel about their relationship. He says that he "stayed with Edna Mae until her death but she was jealous of his youth" and that this will happen to them. In this episode Buffy and the gang are trying to steal a box that The Mayor has had delivered but Faith ends up kidnapping Willow.

He releases her when they hand over the box but she has managed to steal pages from The Books of Ascension that may prove useful to The Scoobies.

In this episode the gang are getting ready for their prom. Angel breaks up with Buffy as he realizes they have no future together but turns up at the prom to give her a moment of high school happiness. Buffy is also given a class protector award at the prom as her graduating year has the lowest mortality rate than any other at Sunnydale High and the students knew that it was down to her.

In this episode Faith shoots Angel with a poison arrow and the only cure is to drink the blood of a slayer. Buffy goes to Faith's apartment to kill her so that Angel can be saved and although Buffy stabs her, Faith escapes. The gang also find out more information on an Ascension from Anya who has seen one before.

In the season finale Buffy saves Angel by making him drink from her. When he rushes her to the hospital we see that Faith is there but she is an a coma and she tells Buffy via a dream that The Mayor will be vulnerable when he first ascends. At Graduation The Mayor ascend into a giant snake and Buffy taunts him with Faith's knife so that he will follow her into the High School.

When Buffy escapes, Giles blows up the school with The Mayor still inside and kills him. This episode was the last Buffy episode of Angel and Cordelia who had left to star in "Buffy" spin off "Angel" although Angel does come back to "Buffy" for a few episodes in the future.

Faith comes back into "Buffy" in season four in the episodes "This Year's Girl" and "Who Are You"? She then appeared in the "Angel" episodes "Five by Five" and "Sanctuary" at the end of which she handed herself into the police. She stayed in jail until Wesley helped break her out in season four of "Angel", when she helped capture Angelus and then returned to Sunnydale with Willow in season seven of "Buffy".
