Dan couldn't stand the fact that Piper kept secrets from him and would never explain why she disappeared so suddenly. When Phoebe received a premonition of Andy being killed by a demon, Prue tried her hardest to protect Andy, but Andy suspected the truth that the demon was not really after him but after the sisters. Despite Prue's insistence, Andy decided to follow the sisters to a meeting with the man he suspected was the demon.

When Andy realized that he was right, he rushed in trying to save the sisters and the demon killed him. Prue wanted to try to save him, but Andy came to her in a dream and told her that she wasn't meant to save him - that it was his time to die.

Before he became a whitelighter, Leo lived in San Francisco and was studying to become a doctor. When he enlisted in the army during World War II, he became a medic. He died in the battle of Guadalcanal while he was bandaging a soldier's head wound.

In this episode the baby's whitelighter-half begins influencing Piper's powers, causing her explosive power to throw fireworks and flowers instead. Piper feels as though Leo cannot make time to talk to her about her increasing pregnancy symptoms, both natural and supernatural; Leo does not feel as though Piper understands how demanding his job as a whitelighter is. So that they may walk in each other's proverbial shoes, the baby switches their powers and Leo receives Piper's pregnancy symptoms as well. Piper has to take care of Leo's charges, leaving Leo to learn to control Piper's powers and cope with nausea and hormonal swings.
