Episode 17: "The Trigger" Part 2 Quiz

Answer: Blackarachnia

Blackarachnia and Scorponok were walking along the path to the obelisk at the centre of the island. Blackarachnia noticed a strange symbol and moved to inspect it. When she did, the ground beneath her fell out. She would have plummeted off the island, but she was quick with her web and caught herself.

Airazor, who was still recovering, saw the whole thing. She told Tigatron that the strange symbol seemed to mark traps. Tigatron asked if it was like the one they were standing beside. They were caught in a narrow canyon that suddenly tried to crush them. Tigatron had to use his weapon to blast them out, and was almost destroyed by the obelisk for doing so.

Answer: Rattrap

Tigatron needed help on the floating island. The only Maximal with flight capabilities was Optimus Primal, and the only Maximal small enough for him to carry was Rattrap. Rattrap was not thrilled to be flown around at high speeds, holding on with just his tiny rat paws.

Answer: Terrorsaur and Waspinator

Terrorsaur and Waspinator had recovered, and Megatron instantly sent them out for another ambush. Rattrap was thrown from Optimus' back. While Optimus fought off Waspinator, Terrorsaur decided to torment Rattrap before he hit the ground. When Terrorsaur was close, Rattrap transformed and shot him.

The stunned Terrorsaur had to transform into beast mode, and Rattrap landed on top, commandeering him for a ride to the island. Once at the island, Terrorsaur dislodged Rattrap with a low-hanging branch.

Answer: Conned the fliers into attacking her

Blackarachnia needed the obelisk to discharge so she could safely blast her way inside. When she saw Terrorsaur and Waspinator approach, she deliberately used an open channel to claim that she was going to destroy them both. Terrorsaur and Waspinator were furious and decided to strike first. Realizing too late what they had done, they were burned by the obelisk a second time. Blackarachnia was then able to blast open the wall of the obelisk.

Answer: To destroy Blackarachnia if she betrayed Megatron

Megatron knew that his team, and especially the spiders, were a treacherous bunch. He sent his most loyal soldier, Scorponok, to make sure Blackarachnia did not betray him. Blackarachnia did, of course, but Scorponok was not smart enough to outwit her.

Answer: He fell through a hole

Scorponok was ready to destroy Blackarachnia, but she warned that at close range, the blast from his missile would destroy them both. He backed up a few steps to protect himself, unwittingly into a trap. The floor beneath him gave away to the open air below.

He managed to catch the edge, but Blackarachnia finished the job by kicking him off. There was nobody left between her and complete control.

Answer: Towards the Maximal base

Blackarachnia had some pretty ambitious plans, and got to work fast. With the island's power, she would be able to defeat Megatron. She wanted to destroy the Maximals entirely, and then displace Megatron as ruler of the Predacons.

Answer: Tricked the obelisk into shooting it

Blackarachnia started pelting the island with its own defenses to destroy the Maximals. Tigatron and Rattrap were taking cover when a boulder fell on Rattrap's leg. Rattrap told Tigatron to not worry, and to just focus on getting to the obelisk. While Tigatron ran for the obelisk, Rattrap distracted it by shooting it.

The retaliation blast destroyed the boulder and knocked Rattrap through the air, but Tigatron was able to enter the obelisk.

Answer: Tigatron

Tigatron understood that the purpose of the island was to provide a sanctuary from violence, and had vowed to visit in peace. Unfortunately, the conflict between the Maximals and the Predacons made it a target. Blackarachnia had taken control and was determined to use the island for destructive purposes, rather than peaceful ones. Tigatron knew he had to stop Blackarachnia, but lamented the loss of what was supposed to be a symbol for peace. When he got inside the obelisk, he shot the central power supply.

The constant destruction of the planet's peaceful systems and inhabitants to the war between the Maximals and Predacons would continue to haunt Tigatron.

Answer: It sent a signal into space

With its power supply destroyed, the island fell to the ground. It spun and crumbled apart, with the obelisk toppling at the end. Its final act was to send a beam to a similar obelisk on the moon, which then relayed the beam through the wormhole just above the planet. Just who the island contacted, and what their reaction would be, was a complete mystery to all.
