Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. After living with beast modes for so long, some of the transformers were starting to be influenced by their alternate forms. "Call of the Wild" opened with one of the characters running through the jungle in a nightmare. Who was having a bad dream?

Answer: Cheetor

The first signs that the transformers were being affected by their beast modes was that they were having dreams about being their animal forms. This was occurring before the Maximals were even forced to be in their beast modes.

Cheetor was having a dream in which he was chasing a gazelle through the jungle, when suddenly the ground opened up beneath him and he fell into lava. Cheetor awoke to the base sirens blaring, indicating a Predacon attack.
2. The Maximals awoke from their slumber during a Predacon night-time raid. Which two Maximals left the base to counter the attack?

Answer: Cheetor and Dinobot

Cheetor ran into the main room of the Maximal base, where everyone else was already dealing with the Predacon threat. When he asked what he could do, Rattrap snapped at him to first transform. When in robot mode, Dinobot picked up the young transformer, and the two of them left the base. They ran at, and tackled Tarantulas and Scorponok.
3. During the raid, Waspinator managed to breach the Maximal ship and steal its rectifier coil. What did the rectifier coil do?

Answer: Protected the base from Energon fields

The planet the transformers had landed on was rich in raw Energon. Energon was a power source for the transformers, but too much could be dangerous. To shield themselves from the harmful effects, the transformers adopted the forms of the local fauna that could withstand the fields.

The transformers had to stay in beast mode when outside their bases to prevent Energon field build up. Their bases were already shielded, though, so they did not have to worry inside their own homes. When the Predacons took the rectifier coil, their shielding disappeared, and the Maximals had to remain in beast mode even inside the base. The Maximals couldn't risk being in robot mode idly, in case the Predacons attacked and they needed the extra fight time.
4. When Waspinator and Terrorsaur flew away with the rectifier coil, Optimus Primal gave chase, but was shot down. Who caught Optimus before he hit the ground?

Answer: Airazor

Optimus Primal was chasing the Predacon fliers, while Airazor flew to intercept them. Terrorsaur managed to hit Optimus, sending him falling. Airazor dove to save Primal, and was also shot. She still managed to break Optimus' fall, but had to spend the next few days recovering in a CR Chamber.
5. After the attack, the Maximals were forced to stay in their beast modes, even when in the base. The prolonged periods in beast mode started to have negative effects on the Maximals' logic circuits. Who did the Maximals turn to for help?

Answer: Tigatron

Tigatron was always more comfortable out in the wild than in the base. He took up the role of northern scout when he joined the Maximals, so he could stay outside longer. He had to spend most of his time in beast mode, yet was not affected the way the other Maximals were. The Maximals sent out a call for Tigatron to return and help them.
6. When the Maximals fully succumbed to their beast mode instincts, Dinobot, a velociraptor, started to chase one of his Maximal allies. Which one?

Answer: Rattrap

Dinobot and Rattrap were always rivals, never really getting along. It seemed that even when their personalities were being overrun by their baser beast mode instincts, some things never changed.
7. What was affecting the Maximals, making their beast mode instincts override their robot ones?

Answer: A Maximal programming block

Megatron studied Maximal programming and discovered an exploit. There was a Maximal programming block that was installed to separate the Maximal's base programming from their beast mode instincts. Prolonged amounts of time in beast mode would increase the stress on the programming block, which led to a breakdown in other systems.

Tigatron discovered the block early on and deleted it. When the Maximals went to him for help, he got them to do the same. After deleting the programming blocks, the transformers no longer thought of themselves as a robot disguised as an animal, but rather a robot and an animal. When they were able to embrace, rather than suppress, their animal instincts, they became functional once again. In fact, they were even more efficient, utilizing both modes to their fullest capabilities.
8. When Megatron was out hunting the Maximals with his Predacons, he did so in style. Where was he hunting them from?

Answer: From a chair

When Megatron decided to finally destroy the Maximals, he went all out. He had a chair made for himself that Scorponok and Tarantulas carried. Blackarachnia led the way with a tribal drum, and Inferno, Terrorsaur, and Waspinator flew overhead, watching for prey. Megatron also used a new rocket launcher. All the Maximals were declared fair game, except Optimus Primal, whom Megatron wanted to destroy personally.
9. Who said the line, "Hunting from the air with automatic weapons - now that's a sport!"

Answer: Terrorsaur

Terrorsaur was known for being ruthless, ambitious, and a bit of a coward. Hunting animals from the air that could not fight back was exactly his style. He also did not lack for confidence, which was his undoing when the Maximals overcame their programming block.
10. While everyone else was in the forest, Airazor went to the empty Predacon base. How did she get past the automatic base defenses?

Answer: She flew at super-sonic speed

Airazor's beast mode was a peregrine falcon, the fastest animal in world when in a dive. While normal falcons come nowhere near the speed of sound, Airazor was a heavier, mechanically enhanced falcon. Her super-sonic speed made it impossible for the poorly programmed base defences to shoot her.

She just flew past the turrets, and her pressure wave destroyed them. After that, she infiltrated the base and recovered the rectifier coil, and the Maximals were able to once again safely wander their own base in robot mode.
