Episode 25: "Other Voices, Part 1" Quiz

Answer: A stasis pod

Tarantulas was planning to build an escape ship for himself out of a stasis pod. He had tried to steal Inferno's pod for this purpose in the episode "Spider's Game", but it was destroyed. There were no new pods projected to land soon enough, so Tarantulas (at Blackarachnia's suggestion) decided to go to the Maximal base to steal an empty one.

Tarantulas already had a transwarp cell from the Predacon base, and did not need a protoform (often found in stasis pods). He certainly did not need Megatron's rubber duck.

Answer: Waspinator

The Predacons and Maximals had a truce from the previous episode, so they were supposed to not shoot each other. Rattrap tried reminding Waspinator when the bug showed up, and Waspinator promised he would not shoot. He then threw the first punch in a brief scrap with Rattrap. Despite being caught off guard, Rattrap soon turned the fight around, and sent Waspinator fleeing.

Answer: "Cybertron"

Airazor was tortured until she reverted to her beast mode. The aliens then whispered "Cybertron", the name of the homeworld for all the Transformers.

"Mainframe" was the name of the studio that animated "Beast Wars", based in Vancouver, British Columbia. "Exterminate" was what the Dalaks from the series "Doctor Who" were famous for shouting.

Answer: Nutty alien bungalow

When Airazor and Rattrap first reached the alien structure, it was just a floor in the middle of nowhere. After accidentally activating it, the walls and roof were built, with Airazor trapped inside. It was a low, round, green structure (like a "nutty alien bungalow").

Answer: The aliens were made of Energon

Megatron may have started out as a simple villain concerned only with raw power. As the series progressed though, he became more ambitious and devious. He had figured out that the aliens were coming, were not going to be pleased, and that they were made of Energon.

Answer: A bio-attack from Scorponok

Being made of Energon, the aliens and their structures could resist or absorb energy-based attacks. Optimus Primal suggested a biological alternative, which Megatron had already considered. He had Scorponok use a special bio-weapon to open a temporary hole in the alien structure. The Maximals were allowed to go in first to rescue Airazor.

Answer: Inferno

Megatron was watching all the angles, including Tarantulas. He first sent Blackarachnia to follow Tarantulas, knowing full well that she would look out for herself and end up working with Tarantulas. He then sent the incredibly loyal fire ant Inferno to track both the spiders.

Answer: Unicron

Being made of Energon, the aliens had no form. They adopted an image of Unicron as a voice of authority when speaking to Optimus Primal. Unicron was a Transformer whose alternate form was a planet, and would eat other planets to sustain himself. He was the main antagonist for 1986's "Transformers: The Movie", set during the Generation One era. Unicron was voiced by Orson Welles (yes, that Orson Welles), who died before the movie was released.

Answer: Sterilize the planet

The aliens were responsible for seeding the planet with Energon. When the Transformers arrived, they greedily harvested the Energon, or accidentally detonated it during their many fights. They also managed to destroy a large number of alien artifacts over the course of the series.

The aliens' solution? Sterilize the planet. It did not matter that there was an abundance of innocent life on the planet, which Optimus argued for. The aliens were set on destroying all life, and it was up to the Transformers of both factions to stop them.

Answer: One of the moons

"Beast Wars" began with the creators not knowing if the mysterious planet was Earth or not. Despite all the animals being from Earth, the creators added a second moon so they could claim it was a different world. By the end of the first season, the show's arc had been established, and the Transformers were indeed on prehistoric Earth. Rhinox had even mentioned in an earlier episode that one of the moons did not have enough mass.

At long last, the Transformers realized that it was not a moon, but yet another alien structure (which Megatron had already figured out for himself).
