Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The episode "Good Grief" revolves around Frasier's 5 stages of depression. But what is he depressed about?

Answer: He lost his job.

He not only lost his job but effectively led to the firing of all the other main radio presenters in KACL when he tried to persuade Mr Martin to give the then newly fired Kenny Daley his job back. Mr Martin decided to change the format of the station to Latino music and as such no longer needed the current shows.
2. In one episode, Frasier recommends a fellow psychiatrist who will have a show running alongside Frasier's. This later went wrong when Frasier disagreed with her 'old-fashioned' views. What was this psychiatrist's name?

Answer: Dr. Nora

Frasier decided to reunite Dr. Nora with her mother, as he believed a lot of her views stemmed from their bad relationship. This turned out to be a bad decision, as Dr. Nora moved to Seattle to get away from her mother!
3. In "Father of the Bride", Frasier thinks it would be a nice idea for himself and Martin to pay for Daphne's flowers for her wedding. When relaying this idea to Daphne, he inconveniently gets hiccups and Daphne believes Frasier is actually paying for what?

Answer: The entire wedding

Frasier had some spicy jerky, which led to his hiccups. He said "I am going to pay for your wedding..." before the hiccups, leading Daphne to think he would pay for the entire wedding.
4. In "Mary Christmas", Frasier hosts the Seattle Christmas parade with Dr. Mary. In this line of banter he had prepared, what is his missing word? "Hey Kelly, have you ever seen eighty ______ march in perfect rhythm?"

Answer: beavers

The banter Frasier had prepared was as follows:

Frasier: "Hey, Kelly. Have you ever seen eighty beavers march in
perfect rhythm?"
Kelly: "Oh, Frasier, everyone knows beavers can't march."
Frasier: "Oh, they can, when they're the marching beavers of the
Riverside High School Band!"
Kelly: "Hey, you tricked me."
Frasier: "Sorry, Kelly, but how about those incredible formations.
They're so precise."
Kelly: "Well, that doesn't surprise me, Fras, after all, the beaver
is nature's first ENGINE-er!"
5. Niles' secret throughout "Frasier" is that he is in love with Daphne. Who is the character that eventually spilled the beans to her?

Answer: Frasier

Frasier mentioned it whilst on heavy painkillers for a sore back. He didn't realise he had mentioned it!
6. In "Hot Ticket" - Frasier and Niles try to get tickets for the hottest theatrical event in town. They try to obtain tickets from the cancellation line, but when encountering the Kendalls, can't bear to be seen in a cancellation line and pretend they have tickets. What was the name of the prestigious event?

Answer: Tears of the Mariner

They were invited to an after-show party in the honour of the actor Sir Trevor Ainsley. They hadn't seen the show, however, due to not getting tickets, so decide to resort to Martin's vague recollection of the review he read in the paper. Frasier manages to get away with his analysis of the play through his blagging.
7. Which of the following main characters from the show "Will and Grace" has had a minor role in "Frasier"?

Answer: Megan Mullally

Megan played the character Beth Armstrong in the episode "Four For The Seesaw" where Frasier and Niles meet two attractive females in Café Nervosa and end up going on a spontaneous trip with them to a mountain cabin.
8. Kelsey Grammer actually does not sing the theme tune to "Frasier".

Answer: False

He does actually sing the theme song to "Frasier", and even is shown singing the song live at the end of the episode "The 1000th Show" (series 5, episode 5), which was about Frasier Crane Day.
9. KACL is the fictional radio station on "Frasier". Why are they those initials?

Answer: It is mainly composed from the initials of the surnames of the creators of Frasier.

KACL comes from Angell, Casey and Lee, the three co-creators of the show. The K is a standard letter to begin the stations west of the Mississippi.
10. In "The Perfect Guy" we meet Dr. Clint Webber, a man who seems to be superior to Frasier in every way, much to Frasier's annoyance. At the end of the episode we encounter his flaw. What can't he do?

Answer: sing

Frasier throws a party in Clint's honour and hears Clint singing in the kitchen. Frasier is then delighted when Clint offers to sing in front of all the guests!
11. I spy with my little eye... something beginning with 'V'. This was the game Niles and Frasier played to pass the time when at a basketball game. From the following, which was not one of the guesses Niles made as to what Frasier was spying?

Answer: Veneer

Veneer is actually the keyword Martin, Frasier and Niles use in their drinking game when watching the "Antiques Roadshow" - every time they heard the word they had to take a sip of their drink - it was said a lot!
12. What was the name of the dog that Martin called Roz's Dalmatian, Ariel?

Answer: Frankie

Roz was not happy that Martin was criticising the way that Roz was training her dog.
13. In "The Harassed" KACL hire Julia Wilcox to take the last 10 minutes of Frasier's show to present what?

Answer: Stock market update

Julia did not make a good impression on Frasier, but Kenny Daley was reluctant to sack her as she had sued her previous employer for unlawful termination.
14. In "High Holidays", Niles wants to become rebellious for once in his life and decides to try a pot brownie. Which character unknowingly ate the pot brownie before Niles did and got high?

Answer: Martin

This is my favourite episode. Martin ate the brownie thinking it was a regular cookie and became high, swapping it with an actual brownie which Niles ate thinking it was the pot. Niles thinks he is high when in fact Martin is, to set up a wonderful scene with the pair where Niles thinks his being high is why he believes Martin is acting strangely.
15. In the final episode of "Frasier", Frasier tells a farewell speech. Who is the poet that Frasier quoted?

Answer: Tennyson

The farewell speech was actually from "Ulysses".
