Answer: Buddy Garrity

Played by Brad Leland, Buddy Garrity is a Dillon Panthers booster and occasional thorn in Coach Taylor's side. He owned Buddy Garrity's Automotive when the show premiered, but eventually became owner of Buddy's Bar. Garrity is the father of Lyla, a Dillon Panthers cheerleader who is the girlfriend of Jason and later Tim.
2. Counselor turned Principal of Dillon High turned Dean of Admissions of Breamore College

Answer: Tami Taylor

Tami Taylor starts the series as a stay-at-home mother but soon gets a job as a counselor at Dillon High School, where her husband coaches football. She works her way up to principal of that school, but later opts to downgrade to counselor again at East Dillon High School. Eventually, she is hired as the Dean of Admissions for a small college in Pennsylvania, and the Taylors pack their bags and move for her golden opportunity.

Landry Clarke, called Lance by Coach Taylor, is the best friend of Matt Saracen and is played by Jesse Plemons. Although Landry didn't play football when the series began, he joined the Dillon Panthers in season two to impress his father. He later ended up as a team captain of the East Dillon Lions before graduating high school and heading off to Rice University.

Answer: Matt Saracen

Matt Saracen, a low-ranking football player on the Dillon Panthers, works his way up to quarterback. To earn money, he works part-time at the town's Alamo Freeze as a cashier. He eventually goes to the Art Institute of Chicago after a short stint at Dillon Technical College. As a full-time art student, he also works in a gallery.

Answer: Tim Riggins

Along with his brother Billy Riggins, Tim Riggins for a time creates and owns Riggins Rigs, an autobody repair shop. But Billy opens a chop shop, and Tim takes the rap and goes to prison for him, leading to an end to the business. After his release, Tim eventually ends up working at Buddy's Bar.

After his high school football-career-ending injury, Dillon Panthers quarterback Jason Street works for Buddy Garrity's Automotive selling cards for a time and then tries his hand, unsuccessfully, at house flipping with his high school pal Jason Street. He also works as an assistant coach for Dillon High at one point before landing on his feet as a sports agent.

Eric Taylor starts the series as the quarterback coach for the Dillon Panthers but works his way up to the head coaching position. After a stint as a quarter back coach at TMU, he returns to his old job to be near his family, and ousts the new head coach at Dillon. Eventually, he ends up as head football coach and athletic director at East Dillion High School instead.

He turns down an offer to head coach a super team combining both high schools and instead moves to Philadelphia for his wife's job, where he ends up as the head coach of Pemberton High School.
8. Dillon Panthers running back turned Texas A&M college football player

Answer: Brian "Smash" Williams

Smash Williams loses out on his college prospects due to a knee injury, but after much hard training and a walk-on try-out, he ends up on Texas A&M's team in season 3. In season 4, Smash Williams receives a mention when a TV commentator talks about his performance at A&M, and in season 5, the audience gets a glimpse of him winning a football game on TV as Tim watches from the bar.
9. Applebee's server turned English major

Answer: Julie Taylor

Played by Aimee Teegarden, Julie is the daughter of Coach Eric and Tami Taylor. She works part-time as an Applebee's waitress. She eventually goes to college, where she majors in English, but leaves after making some bad decisions and ends up moving to Chicago to be with her fiancé Matt.
10. East Dillon Lions player and farmhand turned enlisted member of the U.S. Army

Answer: Luke Cafferty

Played by Matt Lauria, Luke Cafferty works on his parents' farm and plays for the East Dillon High football team in high school. He doesn't receive any major football scholarship offers, and a few months after high school enlists in the U.S. Army. He is seen in the final season giving his girlfriend Becky his state ring as he heads off for the Army.
