Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How is Envy related to Ed and Al?

Answer: brothers

Envy is actually Ed's brother. He is one of the seven Homonculi in the series. Envy has the ability to shape shift into a variety of different characters in the series. Hohenheim, his (and Ed and Al's) father, tried to bring Envy back from the dead after he died of mercury poisoning at a very young age. Envy's hatred for Ed shows after he tried to murder Ed in episode 50 (Al then sacrificed himself to bring him back).
2. How is a homonculus made?

Answer: failed human transmutation

A homonculus is made when a person fails a human transmutation. Alchemy is also the same but I was looking for a specific answer. When you're transmutating an animal and a human together you're making a chimera (it's what Shou Tucker turned his daughter, Nina, into).

When Ed and Al tried to bring their mother back, but failed, they created a homonculus named Sloth. The same goes for Hohenheim, who created Envy.
3. How tall is Edward?

Answer: 4'11

Throughout the series, you'll see Edward yelling non-sensable rants to other people because of the fact that they call him "short," "pipsqueak," or "bean sprout." Partly the reason he doesn't grow so much is because of his hatred towards milk.
4. What is the vital thing that keeps Al's soul in his armor?

Answer: the blood seal

When Ed and Al tried to bring back their mother, Al's body was taken away to the gate. To save his brother, Ed gave up his right arm as an equivalent exchange so that he could bind Al's soul to a suit of armor. To keep Al's soul in the armor, Ed put a transmutation seal written with his own blood.
5. What does Winry do for a living?

Answer: mechanic

Winry is Ed and Al's childhood friend. She's the one that created/currently fixes Ed's automail limbs. She mostly likes to take things apart and put them back together. When she goes out she always carries around a wrench (when the wrench was shown in the series she used it to smack Ed and Al after Ed faked the strength of his automail arm).

She works on automail with her grandmother at the Rockbell house in Risembool.
6. What are Colonel Mustang's gloves made of?

Answer: ignition cloth

Roy is the flame alchemist so he must make flames! He uses the ignition cloth to create a spark by snapping his fingers together, then he uses alchemy (the transmutation circles on the gloves) to change the oxygen density in the air, then, like Breda said, bombs on command. Although, his alchemy may be useless in rainy days because of the fact that he can't make sparks with wet gloves.
7. What is the name of Mustang's most reliable person of all his friends?

Answer: Riza Hawkeye

First Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye serves as Mustang's voice of reason. She has excellent skills with firearm and either uses them to train her dog or to protect Mustang. Her reason of joining the military is because she has someone that she needs to protect, which is Roy Mustang.
8. What's Hughes's daughter's name?

Answer: Elicia

Hughes is very loyal to his wife, Gracia, and loves his daughter, Elicia. He comically shoves many pictures of Elicia in other people's faces bragging about how she's always growing.
9. What race is Scar?

Answer: Ishballan

Scar's brother, Mattias, broke the biggest taboo of the Ishballans (alchemy) by performing the human transmutation on his girlfriend (who is now Lust). Mattias's right arm, now Scar's, was used by Scar to murder State Alchemists, as a sign of revenge for his people's suffering, by exploding their brains from inside their skulls.
10. In "Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa", how does Al manage to open the gate?

Answer: transmuting Wrath

In the movie, Wrath took Al to a deserted place so Al would transmute him and see Ed again. A humongous form of Gluttony interrupted them, attacking/beating Wrath. When Wrath was about to get eaten, he told Al to transmute him and Gluttony-and so he did. Wrath went passed the gate and saw his mother (Izumi) again, while Ed used the rocketship, that Alphons H. built for him, to return to Amestris.
