'JAG' was created by Donald P. Bellasario in 1995 and is a mix between the Tom Cruise movies 'Top Gun' and 'A Few Good Men'. In the spring of 1997, CBS picked up 'JAG' and has carried it to this day.

Bud was introduced in the pilot episode and was also in 'Skeleton Crew' which was not aired on NBC due to cancellation.

Harm's stepfather, Frank, is played by John Cypher. Frank owns a car company.
